The certificate was okay
The certificate was okay. But, the fact that anyone that pays a subscription fee has access to all honor regalia is disconcerting. An honor society is to honor the hard work and dedication a student puts into their education by keeping an above average grade. If anyone is granted the same rewards, without the same amount of work, what is the purpose of calling it an honor? It is more of an educational resource at this point, giving a trophy to those who have not earned it. It is a sham and waste of money.

Thank you for sharing your perspective, Shonna. We respect the importance of academic achievement and the recognition students earn through their hard work and dedication. Honor Society is an independent, inclusive membership organization with a different approach from traditional GPA-selective honor societies. Our mission is to expand access to educational resources, career development opportunities, professional networking, and meaningful member benefits. Honor Society regalia represents membership in our organization and is distinct from academic honors awarded by colleges and universities. We believe celebrating individual achievement and making opportunities more accessible can go hand in hand. We appreciate the opportunity to clarify our mission and membership philosophy. — Honor Society Member Services
