The company is a typical sales company, where they do a common sales pitch then call you relentless to pay the onboarding fee. That sales agent will disappear and they'll introduce you to another "helper".
That helper will provide little to no help before introducing you to another person, called "success manager"
You'll be introduced to several people that won't help you after their job is done. Btw, anything they do with your company and the SEC is permanent meaning you cannot undo it.

Terrible communication & high fees and…
Terrible communication & high fees and interest for small businesses masquerading as a company whose goal is 'growing local businesses'. Tough for investors and small businesses.

Terrible Customer Service - if you get any at all
As a small business owner trying to secure funding, very disappointing experience with communication and customer service.
We completed Honeycomb Credit's offering process back in April 2026, paid a $500 nonrefundable platform fee, and were preparing to launch when an unforeseen issue with our lease required us to temporarily pause. We were specifically told that our offering was just paused and that we could return and resume when we were ready. We were also told the $500 fee could be applied toward our future offering.
When we returned in the fall (about 5 months later) ready to move forward, we were suddenly told Honeycomb was no longer accepting new offerings and that we could not proceed. Despite multiple attempts to get an explanation, we had significant difficulty getting a response from anyone on their team. We later found out that everyone (about 4 people) that we previously worked with, ie. sales reps, account managers, support, etc, no longer work at the company...
We eventually we're put in touch with their CFO, and after multiple email attempts, we were finally told on over a phone call by him "I don't have to provide an explanation to you. We're just not moving forward. While you have a profile with us and a pre-launch offering, no one you previously worked with works here anymore and you're now considered a new offering." Then he abruptly hung up the phone after we tried to get a further explanation here.
To be fair, Honeycomb did ultimately refund our $500 fee, even though it was technically nonrefundable, and I appreciate that courtesy. But the refund wasn't the issue, we wanted to resume the offering we had already spent substantial time preparing and hyping up to our community as we had previously been told we could.
Businesses can change their policies and choose who they work with. That's not my complaint. The issue is the contradictory communication, or lack there of, and the way the situation was handled.
If you're considering working with Honeycomb, don't.

Botched Plan Execution/Added Fees
While our campaign was successful and we reached our goal quite quickly, Honeycomb initiated our payoff documents incorrectly. All the paperwork that we were given was for a setup for a 3-year plan but all of our payments deducted were for a set up for a 5-year plan. We did not catch this error, so some fault lies with us but one would expect that the financial institution initiating the documentation would have done enough due diligence that this would not have occurred in the first place.
Instead of wrapping up when we thought, we suddenly realized we still owe $25,000.
Yesterday we received a notice that due to third party issues, all loans are subject to have an additional 50 to $150 per month added to the payment to cover costs that they could not anticipate. We have every intention of paying off our debt. Had the paperwork been properly initiated in the first place, we would have already satisfied our obligation. Now we have another 2 years of making payments and an additional fee on top of that. We are now seeking conventional loan consolidation just to get out from under this platform. While we appreciate the innovative crowdsourcing platform, it would appear that they have more PR people on staff than accountants. Needless to say, we no longer recommend this company.

Nearly 20% default rate
Honeycomb is upfront that these are largely unsecured loans and carry risk. That said, I have invested in 34 companies. 6 have defaulted and another 3 or 4 have modified their payback plans. I have had 2 companies successfully pay off their debt.
I will be lucky to break even. This is incredibly higher than Honeycomb’s self-reported 3% default rate. I do not believe these companies are properly vetted by honeycomb. This is a high-risk crowdsourcing loan. Anyone lending money should consider it a donation and then be pleasantly surprised if they actually make a return on their investment.

This company is not to be trusted
This company is not to be trusted. They never make payments on time. When you contact them they'll blame the business owner. However if you go to the business owner and they contact Honeycomb the business owner will be told there's a problem with their payment system. It seems pretty clear Honeycomb holds on to money in order to extract some extra interest. Also they don't just pay you, they have a "wallet" where they continue to hold on to your money unless you move it to a bank account. All around shady and ripping off people on both ends of their chain.

Communication is non-existent
Communication is non-existent, (and probably AI.) Have had 2 out of 10 fail within several months, so much for any profit. They need to do more diligence before offering a business for a loan. It's a great idea, just not now from Honeycomb.

Honeycomb is terrible at responding
Honeycomb is terrible at responding. A company I invested in defaulted. I cast a vote that we still get repaid. The vote was sent out to all investors of the company. No word on how the votes turned out. Have not had a payment in a year. The last communication with Honeycomb was 6 months ago.
