They offered a 3rd party lockbox, after I signed all the paperwork they refunded the MLS lock box and said they weren't allowed to offer it in my area, but I would have to pay $100 to cancel my service. For whatever reason their on platform chat doesn't notify you that you have messages so if I didn't check the platform I wouldn't know there was an issue. At one point after 2 days of non communication, I had to find an owner by looking up public records and then texting her, just so I could get an update on my listing. Then they cancelled my listing, but sent me a form as if I had requested the cancellation. This was so they could try and keep a $500 commission. I am all about getting rid of the MLS, but this isn't the way to do it.

I listed with homelister looked like a good deal until I was told there would be additional fees. After being listed for 33 days I was told they were terminating my listing the next day and I owe them $500 obviously I’m not paying it. I’d recommend homecoin I here good things.

This rating is actually a combination of several values. Actual happenings and "old time ethics". In my opinion Homelister provides a valuable service to people who choose to to sell their house without having to pay a 6% commission. Definitely a benefit to both the seller and the buyer. The ethics part is more important to me than the service part. I was told verbally, on the phone before signing the contract, that existing buyer contacts would be excluded from their fees. Once I received a contract, from an existing contact, Homelister invoiced me and my settlement company for their service. I appealed the fee all the way to the co-founder and was told and emailed that the fee does apply, that the phone calls never happened, just go by their contract. I was told that my credit rating would be affected, as would my ability to purchase a home in the future. I feel this is very bad customer service and Homelister is only concerned about the bottom line. All of this for them to collect $450.00.

Unfortunately, as long-standing company policy we do not exempt any buyers from our listing agreement. This is stated on our FAQ and the listing agreement that you signed. You claimed to have been told differently but our review of our phone records do not support this. If we list your home and your home is sold, then the listing fee is due. We always advise sellers to wait to list their home if they believe they may have someone making an offer. This is not a hidden policy and we prefer all who list with us to know this which is why it is in the contract and on the website. We listed your home, and helped you to sell your home, as we promised. Yet you have spoken to several different team members in an attempt to avoid paying the listing fee. Now you wrote a bad review because we simply asked to be paid for our services, which we gladly provided that resulted in the successful sale of your home. Lastly, in a separate review for the Net Promoter Score, you gave us 10 of 10, stating, "All of you have been very helpful with the requirements and paperwork. Very quick emails and responses. Saves a lot of money compared to using a local broker. Thanks!"

Our experience has been awful. Every step of the way they delayed the process. When our home went under contract we didn’t hear from them for weeks! our buyer backed out and now we want to put it back on the market and homelister has us trapped by not responding to our emails. We cannot get our home back on the market as long as they keep it as “pending” on the MLS and they will not communicate with us about taking it down! Legally this should be done within 24 hours! We are beyond frustrated !

Hello Andrea, During your listing process, our team reached out numerous times to you to collect information or correct information required to list your home. You signed your initial agreement on 6/11, and our standard process is to make listings live in 2 business days if we have all required information. Despite the back and forth, we still made your listing live on 6/14, which is exactly 2 business days from when you first signed. Regarding your cancellation and MLS status: your listing was removed from the MLS on 7/28/22, which is the same day that we received the correct termination paperwork from your escrow company, well within the 24 hour required timeframe. Between 7/25 (when you first requested to cancel) and 7/28 (when we received the correct termination paperwork), we made many attempts to get in contact and to request the required paperwork. You can even see today that your home is listed as "not for sale" on public sites like Zillow, which directly conflicts with your review claiming that you cannot get your home back on the market. If you need any further assistance, please feel free to call us at 1-855-400-8566, email us at [email protected], or chat with us on our website at homelister.com. Best regards, The HomeLister Team

I didn't receive any of my leads for the first 18 days that my property was listed. When I spoke to Homelister, they took no responsibility, blamed their inability to provide the service they promised on a 3rd party technology, and were very insulting to me. You get what you pay for and my choice to use Homelister could cost me dearly in the end.

Hi, I'm Carla, a customer service manager with HomeLister. First, Dan I would like to apologize to you for the negative experience that you had again. We partner with ShowingTime, an industry standard showing management system that all agents use to schedule showings. You did not receive the three ShowingTime contact agent requests that you had for the first 18 days of your listing. Your name, phone and email was posted in the MLS the entire time and one of the three contacts who did not get a response through ShowingTime called you directly to schedule. You then let us know that you were not getting the ShowingTime requests and we contacted ShowingTime to get it fixed and it was fixed within a single day. You continued to get ShowingTime requests after that. You let us know that the two other contacts were no longer interested in seeing the home. You demanded to speak to our CEO, and you spoke to both her and our Chief Legal Counsel. After that conversation you were then offered a discount on your listing and you were finally refunded the entire amount that you paid. You threatened to sue us, you posted complaints and then demanded that we pay any difference between the final selling price and your original list price. We understand that getting inquiries is important and that is why we always post your direct contact information in the MLS as agents to be able to reach you directly as well as offering the ShowingTime option as two forms of contact. We contacted ShowingTime to fix it immediately when notified. We are sincerely sorry that you had a negative experience and we've refunded you in full.
