they ordered supplies and billed to me and did not use them on the job and did not credit me for them i called asked to speak to the sales person never got a call back in contract 6 pc ply wood used only 3 2 pipe vents i have none and other boxes never opened like 4 bundles of shingles

ETA: they called me again today and asked why I canceled my appointment and if they could reschedule me!! Unreal, I didn’t cancel anything they did, twice and now it sounds like someone is trying to cover for themselves by saying we canceled. They started off strong by having a polite young man door knocking who really knew what he was talking about. We scheduled an appt with him on the spot, and that's where it went south. Their literature all says they are locally owned and operated but every call came from a phone number 2 states away from me, and they made it a point to tell me the people coming to do my estimate would be traveling from over 2 hours away. The night before our first appt they called and said there was an issue and they had double booked and could not make our appt. Rescheduled and an hour before they were supposed to be at my house called and said they had accidentally double booked AGAIN and could not make it. I refuse to give them a third chance since they insist ALL homeowners are present for their inspection/estimate and that you cannot have ANY OTHER plans for a two hour block while they are at your home, but you also have to give them up to 2 hours after wards where you are not to be elsewhere in case they run late. So twice we took off more than a half day of work to be here for them and they can't even bother to show up. So much more happened in-between like the voicemails threatening to cancel if i didn't call RIGHT back, the reminder call at 9 at night for an appt 2 days away.... it all screams run away while waving red flags.

Home Genius Exteriors provided for me a very terrible experience for me. My son who had received an offer to work for Home Genius Exteriors to work in sales at the end of May 2025 for the summer, his start date was June 10th, then it was changed to start June 24 then changed to start July 8th. My son ignorantly took this at face value and did not know why this was happening. My son is a Senior at a NJ State University majoring in Economic pursuing his BA in 2026, my son is young and trusting. Based on their actions I assess this company as unethical to do what they did. How could a company do this to a student who wanted to work over the summer to earn money and to gain some experience? I will never encourage anyone to do business with Home Genius Exteriors. This was a very cold hearted thing to do!

Sales gentleman that came to home pushed the company making the transition to a new roof so easy with so many other promises, not at all. First started got told don't need a permit which they did not look into correctly, definitely needed one so that was the first hold up. Then the company they dealt with came unannounced to drop off everything, then same day the huge dumpster came that was to be placed in my driveway could not fit, so that driver drove away. Contacted the person that was to be in charge or coordinating everything who was also neglect on proper procedures for permit. The day finally came to get the new roof and 4 man crew came and only 1 boss did not show up for an hour and 15 minutes later and no translator for the crew. The crew did not follow instructions, boss had to call someone to call 1 of the men to translate but they still were defiant. The boss did not even stay for the entire job he left about 5 hours earlier than the finishing up of the job. Another dumpster came which was the same one that still did not fit in driveway, they made arrangements for a quick load at a certain time which was after the boss was long gone and the crew just ignored. I ended up dealing with the police, zoning and code enforcement since the truck was illegally parked. I had a phone call from the company trying to tell me that I needed to replace my rear fascia and the $$$$ was just crazy. I am not going to say anymore, I just hope everyone reads this on how terrible and bad promises were all broken and tries to push you threatening your warranty if you don't, when the fascia has nothing to do with the roof itself. I definitely do not recommend this company and its employees bottom line.

I’m writing to express my deep frustration and disappointment with the experience I’ve had throughout this project, from lack of communication to poor execution. Before I made the purchase, I met with a salesperson who assured me I would be “very happy” and kept informed with continuous updates every step of the way. That promise could not have been further from the truth. The day after my purchase, I received one introductory email from the project coordinator. That was the only communication I received from her, despite my repeated attempts to reach out with questions. I received no responses and was left completely in the dark until someone eventually called to tell me my door and window were in and to schedule installation. Installation was set for a Friday at 3 p.m. The day of, I heard absolutely nothing from anyone. At noon, I reached out to confirm if things were still on track, no response. I tried multiple times to contact someone and couldn’t reach a single person. It got to the point where I genuinely considered contacting my bank to block the payment, I thought I was being scammed. At 3 p.m., I was finally informed the crew was running an hour behind. Four o’clock came and went with still no update. Finally, at 5:15 p.m., the installers arrived. They stayed until 9 p.m. and then informed me they had brought the wrong door. My storm door was bungee-corded to my railing because the correct hardware wasn’t available. It remained like that, for four weeks. Every time I followed up, I was told the materials still hadn’t arrived. It was embarrassing and unacceptable to have my home in that condition for so long. When they finally returned to fix the issue, they arrived 45 minutes late, again, with no communication, even though I told them I was missing work to be there. And now, with the work supposedly complete, my storm door still doesn’t close properly, and my front door is extremely difficult to lock. I raised these concerns, and the workers appeared completely unprepared to address them. After more back-and-forth and no clear solution, I was so frustrated that I told them to just leave. I will now be seeking someone else to correct the problems your team failed to resolve. This experience has been incredibly disappointing and stressful. At a minimum, I expect a follow-up from someone in a leadership position to address these issues and discuss what will be done to make this right.

This company has not been honest or responsive to problems. It has not been a good experience

The Home Genius Exteriors representative came to my house to provide an estimate. He went on the roof into the attic and around the house to gather the information. I told him I would be moving in a few years so I do not want the expensive package. We went to my dining room where he pulled out his kit of products to show me roof vents they were going to install at the top cap of the roof, drip guards, new better flashing, their state of the art pipe cover, and the latest underlayment tech. Some of these things are needed but I did not need others. When I said I did not want the new roof vents, he stated his company only does quality roof the right way. His price was outrageous. It was 30% more than the other company. I asked for the estimate and got a ripped out notepad page with two numbers. One was the price if I did not decide today and the other was the price if I took the deal today. He did not provide a professional estimate or anything that even looked like an estimate a real company would provide. I am looking at a few more roofers and will not be bullied into an on the spot decision. The representative is the face of a company and did not perform his job as other company representatives did that came.
