You get what you buy, most of my shipping woes aren't their fault so I wont mention them. My main issue for the lower score is that you can't trust their website. User reviews are very important when it comes to some of this really expensive stuff, you want to know if you should expect any problems. Well, DONT TRUST the reviews on their house brand "Apertura" products. They curate their reviews. I've had reviews just get filtered out because I pointed out something I really didn't care for about my purchase. Also, if you have a question about a product, like there's something in the photos unrelated to what's for sale but essential to even use it, like a specific adapter.. they will filter that question out too so no one will see it to answer. I find this sort of moderation (manipulation, really) and boosted review score to be pretty egregious in this day and age. Shame on you HPS. If your product has a problem, people deserve to know. Notice that most of them are like 4.9 star average review? Well now you know why.

I bought a telescope from them & when I had some general questions, they were great, took their time with me over the phone. When I discovered I had a defective part in it shortly after purchase, they denied there was any. Spent alot of time on the phone with me, making me feel I had the problem myself. I had someone else check the part and it was indeed a defective part and I went thru so much hassle sending it back. They never apologized to me, made me pay shipping, and told me if I ever complained about this to anyone else they would never help me again period. After I got the new part, the telescope worked great, I did a 5 star review on the scope (not on them) and they refused to post it. When things go good their way they are good, but you have an issue with a product, like I did a defective part, their customer service is really awful. Would not buy from them again. I heard they delete any bad reviews they get by sorting them out, so what you see on their site is not all accurate.
