I booked a security camera installation through HelloTech specifically to have working surveillance around my property and vehicles. The technician came out, claimed he was missing something needed for the install, and promised to return the next day. The same thing happened again. And again. After being pushed off repeatedly for about 3 days, the installation still wasn’t completed. What makes this even worse is that during that exact delay period, my vehicle was backed into in the area the cameras were supposed to cover. Had HelloTech actually completed the job they were paid to do, there’s a very good chance the incident would have been captured on video. I understand accidents happen, but repeatedly showing up unprepared, wasting a customer’s time for multiple days, and failing to complete the service is unacceptable. If you schedule an installation, come prepared to actually do the work instead of stringing customers along with excuses and return promises that never materialize. Extremely frustrating experience, poor follow-through, poor reliability, and zero confidence in using this service again. Charged $500 for what would’ve taken him 15min if he had the tools as well.

Hello tech is the ones that set up a new tv and or take down the old broken tv and install new TV for Walmart! SO I BOUGHT A TV FROM WALMART AND PAID FOR THE TV TO BE INSTALLED FOR 135$! Got home and before the tv was delivered I got a call from Hellotech to tell me they would be the ones coming to do the job and I told them let’s make sure what THEY WOULD BE doing, I TOLD THEM THEY WOULD BE removing old broken TV and putting up new tv and hooked it up I paid 140$ for their services and the guy goes oh NOOOO U NEED TO PAY US for TAKING THE OLD TV BEING TAKEN DOWN on top of what I’ve paid Walmart for their services! 140$ just to put up new tv and programming it! I hung UP and Called walmart and they told me I owed nothing more to them and anything outside what was paid to Walmart for their services it is a violation to give them anything more! And fraud to ask for money outside of what was already paid to Walmart is fraud and they told me they wouldn’t do the job unless I paid more money outside Walmart! Warning warning warning they are fraudulent company and I’m owed money they promised to send a check RIGHT ILL HOLD MY BREATH AND HOPE IT COMES!

I paid in full for competent service provided by a technician who came to our house from Hello Tech. When scheduling the service, I was obliged to also sign up for some sort of membership with automatically recurring payments, even though I did not need, want, nor understand any of the services provided by the membership. I was told I would be reminded before the payment was due so that I could cancel the membership. When I was notified the payment was due, there was no way for me to cancel the membership online myself. I had to call Customer Service, who charged me $10 to cancel the membership.

I selected HelloTech because it was one of the installers that RING suggested. My nightmare began the day of the installation. First the arrival time was change twice. A 10:00 appointment time was changed to 12:00 and finally to 2:00. Past experience with those hired to complete a project entailed discussing exactly what I wanted done, but since I had explained exactly what I needed to the HelloTech rep, I thought he knew. I gave him four flood lights, three sensors, and a doorbell. It took Apx 3 hours for the doorbell and he couldn’t get it to work as designed. He finally said it didn’t come with that feature which was a lie. He just couldn’t install it correctly. He installed the 3 sensors. Two of the three were on the floor the next morning. I asked him if he needed a ladder for the flood lights and he said not because he wasn’t an electrician! Had I known prior to him incorrectly installing the doorbell that he couldn’t do the complete job, I would not have allowed him to do anything. I immediately called HelloTech and was given a bogus excuse. They said that they could send someone else out, but I declined the offer and told them that I would hire an licensed electrician. The job was completed and the feature that the HelloTech h rep stated wasn’t available is working perfectly! I recently discovered that HelloTech wants me to pay for a doorbell that was incorrectly installed and the three sensors that two of the three fell off. They said the tech sent them pictures of those things and they were installed. I asked how could they tell if they were installed correctly by a picture. They needed a video. I asked that a three way called is made with the tech because I don’t believe he would lie about his work with me on the phone. HelloTech did not respond to that request.

Editing to indicate although they have no customer service, I did receive my refund today. I will still never use them again. Zero customer service. They schedule appointments and just dont show. 2 days in a row after apologizing for the first date. You have to fight to get your money back. Still waiting. Is zero stars possible?

DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY!!! I ordered a home security system & installation was outsourced to Hellotech. The Tech sent to my home arrived 3 hours earlier than my scheduled appointment time. He spoke broken English & brought with him an Afghan man "friend", who didn’t speak much English & didn’t work for Hellotech. No Hellotech ID for either (the 2nd man is NOT Contracted through Hellotech) Proven conspiracy to steal from me: 1. Tech called security company the day before arrival to obtain login credentials to my new unconfigured system 2. Arrived at 1 pm vs 4 pm appointment time 3. Immediately set off loud screeching audible alarm. Told me to leave the house while he worked on the issue. I refused, and endured 10 minutes of alarm noise. 4) It took him 2 HOURS to successfully login to security app. Set off audible alarm 2 more times, each time directed me to go outside the house while he worked. I refused. 5) 2nd Afghan man looked & touched personal property, noting "how nice" my stuff is. 6) Tech "threw" stuff around room & onto the floor. Never even unpacked indoor cameras. Refused to install them. 7) Obvious display of anger. I felt physically threatened & vulnerable. He complained job was taking longer than the expected 1 hour. Left after 4+ hours, with installation incomplete and not working. 8) 2nd man tried to distract me outside after outdoor security cameras were installed. Tech re-entered my home alone & STOLE THINGS FROM ME, Then Immediately left. Hellotech Support replies: - NO POLICY to prohibit Contracted Tech to bring someone else with them. - In-house "background check" on contractors they hire, but not others brought by Tech - Recommended calling the police for resolution - Suggested that they ask Tech about events, thereby providing him a "heads up" that police investigation would be pursued. I NOW FEEL FAR LESS SECURE IN MY HOME, knowing that this criminal has access to my security system!

If I could give zero stars I would. Worst experience ever. First appointment audio technician was 2 hours late. Then couldn’t finish job and had to come back next day. Then post install sound bars not installed properly. Waste of money and time sitting around waiting on appointment. Second experience for general handyman appointment we are currently on third cancellation and yet no one from customer service seems to care. Just an email saying “appointment cancelled” please reschedule. Cancelling membership and will not recommend to anyone.

Biggest issue: last-minute cancellations Currently, it appears pros can wait until the exact appointment time to cancel. If you book a noon appointment and clear your schedule, they may still cancel at noon. That creates a frustrating customer experience. Suggestion: Implement a minimum two-hour cancellation notice policy so customers aren’t blindsided at the last minute. Second issue: support experience Customer support has been unnecessarily difficult. I was asked for my name, email, phone number, and service address multiple times before reaching a live representative. Suggestion: Retain the information customers already provide at the start of a support inquiry so they don’t need to repeat it several times. Where HelloTech does well In my experience, HelloTech is solid for straightforward tech-related services like smart doorbells, cameras, and alarm installations. Where improvement is needed Handyman-type work feels outside their core strength. My recommendation would be to focus on tech installs and leave general handyman services to platforms better built for that category. HelloTech has potential, but reliability and support processes need meaningful improvement.
