Technical problems took over an hour to straighten out before I could 'meet' with the doctor. Then the doctor wanted to talk, but wasn't interested in listening--even for a minute. Finally, the doc's Rx was a long, rambling dissertation, so I'm really even sure what she's recommending.

Fragmented experience, bad UX
I tried to use HelloMD yesterday. I was told that it would take 30 minutes so I started about an hour before they close at 7pm. I couldn't get in touch with a doctor at all, and wasted an hour of my time. My expectations were high, and the website should have communicated that I wouldn't able to see a doctor today due to high demand, but it didn't. So just because they advertise a quick turnaround, doesn't mean it's necessarily going to happen.
Today, I tried again and once I entered the video chat, the website said I have to wait 3 hours before seeing a doctor. It's absurd to have a user wait 3 hours with their camera on, so I'm not really impressed with the service. The doctor's appointment was quick, but I was disoriented afterwards. There was no clear result of my appointment on the website - I couldn't access my letter until I received an email.

Teresa,
I am sorry that you had this experience. To address your specific points:
1) The last hour of our doctors shift is often the busiest. For some reason, people all seem to want to connect just prior to the close. Its hard to predict this demand, and so sometimes if people connect late, we cannot fit them all in before the doctors go off shift.
2) With regards to a 3 hour wait- this is never the case. The average wait is between 1 and 20 minutes with most people waiting around 10 minutes or so. We feel this is far better than visiting the doctors office, where you typically have to wait in addition to the hassle of parking etc. Nobody ever waits 3 hours on a video call for our doctors.
UPDATE: our engineering team diagnosed your 3 hour issue. Its because the clock on your computer is incorrectly set. This is unusual for modern computers, since they update automatically. Anyhow, I want to clarify that you did not in fact wait 3 hours, it was a technical error that caused this misinformation.
We do guarantee your satisfaction, so if you would like a refund, I will be happy to facilitate this. Please contact me at [email protected] if you would like us to process a refund. You will have to get a new recommendation from a different doctor in that case.
