This property is advertised as a hotel
This property is advertised as a hotel, but it most definitely is NOT. I specifically wanted a locally owned hotel, as the locals are rightfully protesting being priced out of their community by foreign investment. This is a Romanian/American couple who displaced a multi home unit, with their lease to rent capitalistic venture. They put some cheap make up on the interior and are raking in cash, cutting out locals. It's actually an Airbnb as well. I should have checked more closely, but by the time you get to the "check in verification" | had already paid. In addition there was a leak in the bathroom sink and a foul odor coming from the shower grate. Please do your homework and find a locally owned hotel. The HOLT is the venture capitalist last name. Not hard to find on a quick Google

Kathy, if you read a little bit more, you will see this property is owned by a family that lived here for many years. It still is. We at HOLT are the dutiful caretakers currently. Your review is 100% off-base, and you decided you would make up your own mind rather than even ask anyone. For many years this home sat in an unlivable condition. Every so often, a large big box business would ask to take over - a pharmacy, or retail store, or a bank. The family declined. They knew that it wouldn't be right in the spirit of their grandmother. Ioana Holt, not a venture capitalist name, it's just... her last name, found the home and found the family, and she told them she wanted to rebuild the home into a rental property in memory of their grandmother and all hard-working women everywhere. The family was beyond excited. We at HOLT don't particularly care if you think it's a hotel, or there are rooms in a home, or it's an apartment, or whatever. But we do know that it was finished on International Women's Day as fate would have it and is an ode to all women who have been "through it" and come out the other side stronger for it. Americans, Romanians, Mexicans, Peruvians, Spanish, Georgians, Filipinos, and many, many Oaxacans poured money, love, sweat, and tears into rebuilding this home so that ignorant people like yourself can enjoy their stays visiting OUR incredible city no matter how misguided their "good intentions" are.
