About Hear and Play Music

At Hear and Play Music and the Gospel Music Training Center, our passion is helping musicians worldwide unlock the art of playing the piano by ear. Founded in 2000 by Jermaine Griggs, we have dedicated decades to teaching the dynamic skill of understanding and interpreting music through ear training, music theory, and recognizing patterns. Our focus is on soulful music genres that best express this art form, including gospel, jazz, blues, soul, R&B, and pop.We believe that playing by ear transcends traditional music learning methods, allowing musicians to experience and express music in a deeply personal way. Our specialized approach teaches students to hear recurring themes in songs and interpret them creatively on the piano.Over the years, we have reached and serviced more than 2 million musicians through various platforms, including YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, our email newsletter, free lessons, comprehensive paid courses, and a personalized coaching program. Our resources are designed to cater to learners at different stages of their musical journey, from beginners to advanced players.Hear and Play Music and the Gospel Music Training Center is more than just a teaching platform; it's a community where musicians come together to share, learn, and celebrate the joy of music. Join us, and embark on a musical adventure that will transform the way you hear and play music.

A Trusted and Successful Program
Hi! I’m Vanessa, and I’m celebrating my 65th birthday today🎉🎉🎉 Since becoming a member of GMTC, I have learned so many lessons from simply…. Following instructions!!! Jermaine and his wonderful staff have mapped out and created a step by step program designed with understandable lessons to follow along to help you with your musical journey. There’s a community of other students as yourself, that have become a family network who shares their progress and work together to perfect each others growth. You have one on one access to your instructors through…. Zoom, Daily Chats, Personal Calls, Text Messaging, Recorded Video Lessons, Quizzes, Fun Games, etc…etc…. Trust me, you will not be joining an organization who abandons you and leave you to find your way home. This musical family will support you, encourage you, pray for you, check up on you, as well as check in on you to see how you’re progressing or if you’re experiencing any difficulties in your endeavors. So if you’re looking to learn how to play piano as a beginner, advance player, or simply just to sharpen your skills….GMTC will be your FIRST and FINAL choice. Welcome to the FAMILY!!! Vanessa Denson!!!! 🎹🎹🎹

Serious and Caring Teaching
The teachers allow the students to give thought to what is being taught and then a practice session is allowed. They also have an attitude of caring.
