Staff is extremely unprofessional. Had an appt booked for today and was turned away because we had the nerve to ask 3 questions. Why wouldn't we ask questions about a service being performed on our beloved pet? Would you not question the doctor if you were bringing your child to the doctor? At least the doctor is licensed and educated about the service. Here we were informed the technician performing the cleaning is alone and not licensed, which was fine, but the question didn't sit well with the manager. Strange an establishment had issues with us questioning length in business and whether they were licensed.

Hi Stephanie,
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are sorry to hear that your visit did not meet your expectations.
We would like to clarify that our on-site manager acted professionally during your visit, ensuring that all matters and questions were addressed respectfully. Our veterinarian in charge, Dr. Cherry, carefully assessed your pet’s oral condition and provided a thorough explanation along with a treatment plan that included antibiotics. We understand that you chose not to proceed with that aspect of the plan, and we respect your decision as a pet owner.
At our facility, we strive to maintain a family-friendly and women-empowering environment. On the day of your visit, a toddler was present due to unavoidable childcare circumstances. We ensured that both the pets and the child were safe and comfortable throughout the day.
While we deeply regret that your experience did not align with your expectations, we cannot condone rude behavior toward our staff. We value our team’s commitment to providing compassionate care and fostering a respectful environment for all clients and their pets.
Should you have any further questions or concerns, we invite you to reach out to us directly at (832) 281-5281 or [email protected]. We are always here to help and ensure the best for your pet!

Not sure about your bookkeeping…
Not sure about your bookkeeping practices Healthy Smiles. Someone sent me a text asking if I received a refund. I ignored the text because if a refund was processed a business on top of its bookkeeping wouldn’t have to ask that question. Check your records and tell me. Once again, if it was important that Leo have an anxiety medication before the appointment a responsible business would not waste a customer’s time by allowing a booking without reiterating a recommendation made 6 months previously. By the way, please don’t make it seem as if Stella has been a recipient of your services for years. She has had one cleaning as I have just recently adopted her. As I said before, do better!

Misleading and unfair
So, I called the office to see if I could get some info on there treatments.I was asked what my dog need done and I explained to them that he had to teeth to be pulled. Never did the person who answered the phone say anything about not providing this service. I was asked for a 50.00 none refundable deposit. I went ahead and gave them the deposit, since I was never told they didn’t have this service when I asked if I could get my deposit back since I was misinformed their answer was.deposit non refundable.gave them a star just because they don’t have 0 star option.

Hi Elizabeth,
We are truly sorry to see this and please apologize for any inconvenience this might have caused. Unfortunately, as explained by the front desk when setting the appt, we only do non-anesthetic dental cleanings for pets and anything requiring anesthesia as per extractions, would have to be evaluated by a vet as it might be painful for your furry friend. However, we would love to make things right for you if you give us the chance, our manager at Cypress has contacted you a few times and left VMs to get to the bottom of this as we are more than happy to see your furry friend and perform the dental cleaning when he has his teeth extracted and we will waive that deposit whenever you want to come back, in fact, we invite you to visit us again just to provide you with a full report and with a dental cleaning if possible. Please let us know. Our main priority is to provide a positive and meaningful service to all our pet parents and furry friends. Looking forward to hearing from you again.

THOUGHT MY DOG WAS GOING TO DIE
I took my 2 Pomeranians Boston (7 years) & Bella (3 years) to Woof Gang Bakery & Grooming in West University for their teeth cleaning with HealthySmiles Pet Dental on Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2020. I felt comfortable because I already buy dog food from the store Woof Gang Bakery & Grooming, who was hosting HealthySmiles Pet Dental teeth cleaning, and the store did a great job grooming my dogs the day before. Thought I was doing my dogs a favor going the non-invasive route without anesthesia because they are 5 and 7 pounds. Did not want to risk any dangerous complications from the anesthesia because they are small breed dogs. When I picked them up everything seemed fine. They told me both dogs did great during the cleaning. I found this odd because years ago had to switch Boston’s pill form flea and heartworm medication to topical because he would not let me open his mouth to give him the pill.
After bringing the dogs home I noticed Boston could not walk or stand on his own, and started shaking all over crying in pain. He urinated on the bedroom and bathroom floor instead of his regular pee pad because he could not lift his leg up to urinate on the pee pad like he normally does. I called Woof Gang Bakery & Grooming to tell them what happened and check to see if they gave him anything. They stated this is the first time anyone has had any issue with the teeth cleaning service, but Boston’s health was perfectly fine up until bringing him home after the teeth cleaning with HealthySmiles Pet Dental. She also stated they do not give dogs any food or water while getting teeth cleaned, and only use a bulk prophy paste to clean the dogs teeth (J-452D5B). I asked how do they get the dog to relax without anesthesia, and could not get a straight answer. Went to the website which still did not present any technique on how they actually calm the dog. “We relax your pet with calming techniques..” To this day neither Woof Gang Bakery & Grooming in West University or HealthySmiles Pet Dental has reached out to me to check on Boston’s health to make sure he is alive and okay.
The next morning (Thursday) I went downstairs to get the dogs food. When I returned I noticed Boston laying on his pee pad on his back shaking and could not get back up. I immediately took him to an emergency animal hospital to get x-rays, blood work, catheter, pain medication, hospitalization etc. The emergency doctor suggested an ultrasound on Friday, but said he did not have the ultrasound machine with him that day so I decided it was best to pick Boston up from the emergency animal hospital and bring him to his regular vet to get a second opinion.
Upon examination from the regular vet on Friday the doctor suspected severe traumatic pain from the neck up on Boston and sent him home that evening with pain medication Buprenex to help him calm down and hopefully eat, which he did not. I had to work the next day (Saturday), but was able to monitor Boston’s behavior on my cell phone on my home security cameras. From the moment I left my home for work until the time I got home Boston was walking in circles around the room the entire day.
It was not until Monday morning (5 days later) Boston ate any solid food (happy tears), or drank any water on his own. The only way I was able to get him to drink water was through a syringe and broke my heart to see him in so much pain. I thought he was going to die. HealthySmiles Pet Dental is doing something wrong. More specifically Alex, the tech who cleaned Boston’s teeth.

Terrifying reaction
I got my 12 year old yorkies teeth cleaned for the first time without anesthesia and he had a terrible reaction! Upon returning home, he couldn't walk or stand on his own. He was shaking all over and was running into walls and furniture. He wouldn't eat or drink for nearly 36 hours. I thought he was going to die. Although things did return to normal within 72hrs it was a slow, confusing, and painful process to witness. I will never subject my poor baby to this torture again. I will just continue to be diligent about brushing his teeth at home because despite this terrible experience I don't want to subject him to an anesthesia dental cleaning either.
