Hawx Pest ControlReviews of hawxpestcontrol.com

This company has predatory practices, including locking customers into exorbitant contracts, going against what representatives of their company promised. Their products don’t work and communication was terrible. People would often not show up when they were scheduled or would show up without calling or emailing/texting. Their customer service representative I spoke with was rude and would not allow me to speak with a manager or even another rep. 0/10 recommend.

The indoor bug and general spider treatments work well. And the techs are mostly nice and respectful. We got a free mosquito treatment in July that worked really well. We paid a lot for a mosquito treatment in August 10 days ago, but it didn’t seem to help at all. When I asked them to come back and fix it, they said no because we didn’t pay for year round treatment. But we don’t need mosquito treatment for all of the months they make you pay for it. They should be willing to back up their service no matter what. I don’t know if they used a different product or what, because the free trial worked the month before. Another frustration is the representative, Alex, who sold us the Hawx contract told us a lot of half truths to get us to sign up. Like that we would get free mosquito treatments added on, but neglected to say it would only be one. This review is on behalf of my father, Gary, who is officially the customer.

I would strongly caution anyone considering doing business with this company. Over the course of our contract, we experienced repeated no-call/no-show service issues and did not consistently receive the level of service we were paying for. After months of ongoing problems, we notified the company that we did not intend to renew our agreement and provided instructions for the contract to terminate at the end of its stated term. Despite giving notice that we wanted the agreement to end on the contract expiration date, the company charged us a $199 “early termination fee.” This makes little sense, as the fee exceeded the value of the approximately two months remaining on the contract. We were not attempting to terminate early; we were attempting to prevent an automatic renewal and allow the contract to end as scheduled. What has been most disappointing is not just the fee itself, but the company’s unwillingness to acknowledge the repeated service failures that led to this situation. After paying for a full year of service that frequently did not meet expectations, we were met with a demand for additional charges rather than a good-faith effort to resolve the matter. The company has continued to pursue collection of this disputed charge and has indicated that it may be reported to credit bureaus. As someone who consistently pays bills on time and in full, I take that very seriously. I believe this fee was improperly assessed and should be removed. Based on my experience with both the service and the customer support process, I would not recommend this company.

I made the mistake of contacting Hawx Pest Control for a new rodent problem, and my experience was extremely disappointing from start to finish. When I called, the representative described a service that sounded comprehensive. I was told the initial visit would include a full home inspection, bait boxes for the rodent issue, and treatment for crickets and other common household pests. I was also specifically told that if I decided not to continue with the recurring service after the technician's visit, I would have a cancellation window and could opt out without issue. My appointment was scheduled for between 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. The technicians didn't arrive until approximately 2:30 p.m., and no one called or provided any updates about the delay. When they finally arrived, they appeared to have no knowledge that I had called about a rodent problem. They seemed prepared only to perform an exterior pest treatment. I had to explain that the entire reason I contacted Hawx was because I had mice. The technician then came inside and placed a few inexpensive sticky traps—without any bait—in random areas of my home. These were the same type of traps I could have purchased myself for about a dollar at a discount store. There was no inspection, no bait boxes, and no meaningful effort to address the issue I had called about. After this poor experience, I contacted Hawx's corporate office and spoke with Kaylan. She was initially very understanding and confirmed that I was still within the cancellation window. She encouraged me to give the company an opportunity to make things right by issuing credits and arranging for technicians to return and provide the services I had originally been promised. When she was unable to get in touch with the local office, she assured me that everything had been canceled and a refund would be received in 7-10 business days. Then, on July 14 at approximately 5:15 p.m., Kaylan called me back and said she had spoken with her supervisor, who informed her that she could not honor what she had previously promised. Instead, I was told I would have to pay a $199 cancellation fee. I was charged $199 without being able to speak with anyone further and original services were still not rendered. I have no problem with a company enforcing its contract when it actually delivers the services it promised. However, I did not receive the service I purchased. I contacted Hawx because I genuinely needed help with a rodent problem, and the technicians failed to provide the inspection and treatment I was promised. I spent hours waiting for a late appointment, received inadequate service, and then was charged a cancellation fee after being told my cancellation had already been processed. When I asked to speak with a manager because I was receiving different answers every time I called, I was told I could not be transferred to anyone else. I was informed there was nothing further they could do, the call was ended abruptly, and I was ultimately charged despite never receiving the proper service. My experience with Hawx Pest Control was frustrating, misleading, and a complete waste of my time and money. My advice: Do not use Hawx Pest Control. The services they promise over the phone were not the services I received, and my experience with both customer service and the cancellation process was unacceptable. If I could give the company zero stars I would! I have never received service this poor!!!!

what a terrible company. They utilize a subscription service which is a little unorthodox for a pest control company but I decided to give it a shot. I have several properties I used them for in St. Louis and Houston. I would NEVER use this company again. It's impossible to get anyone on the phone when you need them and their services are just so poor and useless. For example, they send a tech to your house without giving you any kind of notice. They over-schedule their techs to 12-20 appointments a day so forget about any sort of quality, it's all quantity to them so they do less than the bare minimum. Then when you realize you've made a mistake by doing business with them, they charge you crazy fees to cancel, so you have to wait one full year. Here's the craziest part - they discontinued their bug spray services... did you get that? I'll say it again because I know how ridiculous that seems. THEY STOPPED DOING BUG SPRAY SERVICE. A pest control company that doesn't spray... make it make sense. Instead, the tech puts some powder under sinks and tries to tell you that this is somehow effective. The tech didn't even look like he believed the nonsense he was telling me. I just canceled the last of my services with Hawx and I will never use this company again. WHAT A TERRIBLE COMPANY!
