I was told my battery needed replacing and one was being sent. When it didn't come I was then told they had been out of stock but now they were in and one would be rushed. Nothing yet and the third call I was informed that the battery would not be sent as it is out of warranty. I've not used this battery even once as it even looks new and my guess is it has been sitting a long time. After three calls and three different outcomes I'm done.

Pile of junk.
My mother bought this mower due to the claimed convenience and “easy-use”. I feel like she was scammed. Biggest pile of junk you could purchase. Waste of money. I would never buy any of their tools. Battery does not charge fast and cannot finish a small yard. I came home to mow for her and it was the worse experience. I would rather trim every individual piece of grass with extra dull children’s scissors than use this pile of junk. I’m currently doing that now as I write this review. The grass is not over grown or wet for anyone wondering… this product and company is just that horrible.

Expect to be Lied To by CSR's
Contacted Hart Tools for a replacement 40V battery charger 3 weeks ago. They told me they had none in stock but expected stock replenishment for the item soon and I should expect delivery within 2 weeks. This week makes 3 weeks and I called them on Monday for a status. They told me they meant 14 business days (not calendar days) and that I needed to wait 2 more days. Once I would reach the 14th business day, they would ship it out and I should have it by or before Saturday; which would be today, Friday, 8/14/26, in time to cut my grass tomorrow, Saturday. Well... today is Friday and I have received nothing; not even a shipping confirmation!!! What I have learned from this experience is that they lie. Why didn't they tell me during my first call that they were referring to business days, not calendar days. Second conversation was that it would ship on the 14th business day (Wednesday of this week). As of today, Friday, I have received nothing; not even a notice of a delay with the charger! Imagine what my grass looks like after 3 weeks of not being cut! Looks like I am at their lying mercy!!! I have never experienced such poor customer service! Unfortunately, I have no other recourse, but to wait because I have tried finding the charger at local walmarts, to know avail. No one has the chargers in stock. What I think I will do next time is spend a little more money on a brand name mower, where I can get the parts at a local store when I need them right away.

I have been trying to get a battery
I have been trying to get a battery, that falls under their warranty, replaced since May, and it's now August. I've talked to them over the phone, where the said they would send out a replacement. After the replacement didn't come through, I contacted them via email where they said they would send out a replacement within 10 to 15 business days. It's been 25 business days and they haven't even responded to my email asking for tracking info.

TERRIBLE SUPPORT, Buy another brand!
TERRIBLE SUPPORT. Received a string trimmer as a gift that was bought at Walmart. The box was missing the charger! Even though it was listed on the contents both on the box and in the manual, it wasn't in the box. There was a battery, nothing to charge it with. So I try Walmart. They say without a receipt, they can't help, "Maybe someone stole the charger from the box. Call Hart tools."
So I call Hart. And they tell me, "SORRY CAN'T HELP." Can't replace it, can't sell me one. WHAT??? They said without the receipt they cannot do anything for me. I said, so I have a useless tool I can just give to a thrift shop? "Yes ma'am. We can't help you." I asked to talk to a supervisor, and was told they will tell me the same thing and there is nothing they can do. I WILL NEVER BUY THIS BRAND. Terrible customer service and support.

The government seriously needs to look…
The government seriously needs to look into taking some sort of consumer protection action against this company. There is something wrong that their tools are broken right out of the box. I had to file a consumer complaint with a government agency to get them to replace my brand new string trimmer that started smoking after one use. That was spring 2025. First they had me to take the stringer to a repair center. The repair center kept it for three months and told me Hart didn't have the part and they didn't know when they would fix my trimmer. After being given the run around by their horrific customer support I filed a consumer complaint with my state's consumer protection office. They literally tried ignoring the state. When they finally responded it was fall of the year. No need for the trimmer anymore. They finally sent a "brand new" stringer, just as the snow was flying. It was sent directly from Walmart. I put it in the close until spring. Well, I just took it out. I truly believe this item is used. There is machine oil on the trimmer (it's an electric trimmer) and the spool head cover was FUSED on. It took a lot of work to get it to finally screw off. Now it won't go back on. I went to Google, YouTube, and HART's horrible website for help. Well, as per usual, tons of people have had this same out of the box experience--can't get the spool head to open. Once you get it to open you can't get it to close. I call customer support. They're not open until Monday. So, I'm starting spring/summer 2026 off the same way I did spring/summer 2025--no stringer. I will never buy another Hart Tool again. Their products are pure garbage.

Very unsatisfied
Very unsatisfied. Bought a mower with a battery. After a year the battery died. Tried charging it and won't take a charge. Called hart and got no help was told since I bought it from Walmart i would have to have a receipt for the warranty. Called Walmart and they wont even look it up, didnt keep the receipt because i thought i was getting a quality mower. I've only had it a year and will have to spend $300 on a new battery that will go out in another year. I'm completely helpless
