When the pump does not open immediately using the rotating on/off nozzle, we have found that the following method works best: twist off and completely remove the pump, then hold the straw piece while twisting the spout. Unfortunately, even with early ordering, covid-19 had severely delayed most orders once they left with the mail carriers. Lily, Thank you for your review and your constructive feedback. We are always looking for ways to be a more sustainable company. Yes, our gift sets come in cotton bags. We chose these bags over plastic as they are better for the environment and can be reused over and over again by the recipient for all kinds of things! As for the plastic used in shipping our products, our warehouse is using recycled bubble wrap to product products from damage and rain when being shipped. The amount of sugar scrub and lotion in the tubes is measured by the ounce, marked on the front of each package. The number you see on the front of the package is an accurate measure of the product in each container.
