Stayed at the Hampton Inn in Lexington…
Stayed at the Hampton Inn in Lexington S.C. for several days on several different trips and found them to be a good Hotel. The last trip was the most difficult of the 4. Made a confirmed reservation with Dee, a front desk manager. Knowing our history of staying, she first thought we would be staying again in April, but confirmed the 5 day stay would be in March ( 3/20 - 3/24 ). They did send a confirmation, but without reading it, we trusted being an annual stayer, they would be correct. Once arriving after a long 8 + hour drive, she ( Dee ) didn't even remember who or what we were talking about when giving our name at the desk. Her comment after a few minutes was, oh yes, I made that reservation for next year, but believed she meant next Month. Our conversation on the phone earlier confirmed we were down for March and when relaying that once at the desk, she said she remembered, but stated that the error was on the computer. She said, no problem, we have a room, but at approximately $150.00 over the previous quoted rate, but then after seeing our displeasure, changed to it just under $50.00 the original quote. We did speak to the Manager ( Kathy ) who has always been kind, but said she could not change the rate on this trip. On top of that, we suggested on our last trip that someone should address the refrigerator situation in the room, as it is placed in a short cabinet and is so difficult to get in, it scrapes your hand when opening it. My Fiance' cut the top of her hand on it on this trip, not remembering the very tight quarters. The other employees, breakfast help, other front desk clerks, and room attendees were very good as ususal. We are hoping that issues are handled a little better resolved should we be staying again.
