Hallow does not charge customers without their authorization. A valid payment method is required when starting a free trial, and the subscription price is displayed before the trial begins. Payment is authorized through the method selected at sign-up, such as our website, Apple, Google Play, or PayPal. We understand how upsetting it would be to see a charge after believing your subscription had already been canceled. We also want to clarify that we would never threaten or discourage anyone from contacting their financial institution or filing a chargeback. When we mention the dispute process, it’s simply to explain that once a chargeback has been filed, the payment is handled through the financial institution’s dispute process, which can limit what our Support team is able to do directly. Just a reminder that deleting does not cancel a subscription. We also send a reminder days prior to a trial about to renew (depending how you signed up), and it is noted during sign-up, so you can create a reminder as you suggested. Payments are processed through the payment method authorized when a subscription is started, and subscriptions may renew automatically unless canceled before the renewal date.
