This course was somewhat informative. There were many things I did not know. However, I feel like I still have so many questions that could have been answered through the course. I think the videos were very short and usually presented the information very generally. I understand it is an introductory course, but too often the material I was curious about was referenced as being for those taking the 5 week course. The videos were a little repetitive, again very general, but light and easy to follow. I wish we had been given more than just the shampoo recipe (I was kind of hoping/expecting for hair treatment (oils) as well), but that is marketed as yet another product to buy. While I found this course price affordable, I should mention that I got it with Black Friday price, otherwise, I was quite hesitant. The other workbooks and products are way out of my range of what I'd feel I can afford. Overall, the course material was still very beneficial I think, and I hope I'll see more progress as I continue implementing the new lifestyle.

This course was informative
This course was informative, but did not leave me feeling like the knowledge presented, was complete (yes I know it is an introductory course, but too often material was referenced that could have just been left out rather, as being for those taking the 5 week course). The videos were a little repetitive and rambling, but light and easy to follow. The tasks sometimes left me feeling that I wished there was more time to complete them rather than a day (that may also be a reflection of my busy life right now rather than the expectations of the course, just to be fair). I wish we had been given more than just the shampoo recipe (I was kind of hoping/expecting for conditioner and a hair treatment as well), but that is marketed as yet another product to buy instead. While I did find this course priced affordably, the other products are very much way out of my range of what I'd deem acceptable. Overall, the course material was diverse, which I appreciated, but because it was intended just as an inexpensive (again price needn't always reflect the degree of quality or level of information, ie cheap = intro) 2 week challenge, often left me feeling frustrated for not having more material to work with.

Fourteen Day challenge C.
14 day Challenge. Good for very beginners but average for somebody who likes to dig stuff on their own.
It's gonna be very long but I hope it can help people who are in doubt:
The good things:
- Sarah is honest when she says the information provided is a result of investigating.
- If you don't know anything about nutrition, product ingredients or oils (if you think an expensive product is gonna work better, for example) there's gonna be a lot of good information for you TO START. As she says, this is by no means an in depth review of what a mineral would do, how a specific ingredient behaves and why it does what it does, etc., so it's true that for a full change you need more.
- Also, if you don't know anything about making your own treatments or if you fall into the clickbait titles on YouTube or social media, you're probably going to learn some stuff which will point you in the right direction.
What I think they have to improve:
- There are some typos in the workbook and the PDFs given. Somebody may think it's not as relevant, but to me it makes it look less professional and for the price, these are details one should take care of.
- The number of pages of the manuals can sound like a lot, but that's because they have a lot of images and the font size is quite big, so when they say a manual is 120 pages, it's not really that long.
- I didn't find it a challenge at all, but this may be because I am a person who reads a lot, investigates a lot and is not overwhelmed by too much text, so I expected more from this.
- The quantities for the Shampoo A are expressed in different measurements, so if somebody wants to make more or uses imperial instead of metric measurements they're gonna have a harder time. I would have preferred the formula explained in percentages rather than tablespoons.
- There's a mistake calling rosemary extract (and some other non-preservatives) a preservative. I find it extremely important to note the difference between antioxidants and preservatives because many people will get confused if they want to dive deeper.
- I would have liked at least two or three options for Shampoo A, since it's the one I made and I found it "meh". Better than the store-bought, yes, but not a shampoo I would make again or stick to. I know no shampoo is going to fit everyone, but precisely because of that, you can indeed have some guidelines for a person to try one formula over another - without having to go in depth on their hair profile or environment either -, or to try two or three to see if one works better (anyway a store-bought can be already more damaging). That's something I'll have to do on my own.
- I understand 14 days are a limited amount of time to provide in-depth information (for most), but I found that to be very repetitive along the videos, so I understand why some took it as a hook for buying more expensive stuff. I think it would be better if you present it in a different way instead of repeating it in almost every single video.
- For the giveaway, I don't like the fact that leaving a comment on social media or a review here is something that gives you entries. Why? Because that's a tricky way to get a higher rate. Even if it's optional, if I had a company I would leave the work speak for itself and not let it influence a prize in ANY way (somebody who thinks it deserves a 5 star rate would do it for free, not to win anything). I am not participating on it because as you see, my review is not of 5 stars and I don't have my name here.
- I also understand some people may want the giveaway more than others, but there are other ways to still make it honest and transparent. To me, having to leave a public comment - even if it's optional, I say again - is a turn off because many people can just say "OMG it's the best experience, you go buy it" just for the sake of earning more entries, and the comment stays t/here even if they don't win, so for the company it's always a win.
Why did I join? Because I wanted to see if there was something I didn't know (indeed it was. I would have given it 1 star if it wasn't, but again, it's much less than I expected - probably just one or two days had the information I was interested in). Like I wrote, I am a person who likes to investigate a lot and by doing that I was coming to a lot of conclusions that I just confirmed here. In that sense, I didn't waste my money, but I would be quite upset if I had paid for the full price.
So, like I said, if you don't know anything this 14 day program is probably going to be very good for you (maybe the Shampoo will be wonderful. To some it seems it was), but to somebody like me it was average, so I would have to buy the 5 week program and it's something I don't think I will do unless I end up with a total failure with my researches.

Helpful challenge but just a beginner guide
I enjoyed the 14-day challenge, and I felt like it was worth the price paid. I learned a lot and it will help me focus more deeply on how to improve my hair health. My biggest disappointment was the touted contest to win a slot in the longer 5 week class. The person that supposedly won seemed to be a new name. I had been very active in the posting boards the whole 2 weeks and the name was not familiar to me. I went back to the posting board after the name was announced and searched for the person, but found nothing posted by them (we have to post everyday to get contest entries) and I also checked on the HGL FB page, and that person hadn't posted there either. Seemed very suspicious to me. Overall the program was helpful, but the final day of a 45-minute sales pitch for the longer program and a "winner" who didnt seem to even be in the program, left me with a bad taste in my mouth.

Hi Carli, I'm sorry to hear that the end of the challenge left a bad taste in your mouth. I just want to thank you for bringing this to our attention. We have noticed that Hayal deleted her FB review after she claimed her scholarship.
When we were verifying all entries and the winner, we saw that she was up to date and active, and she submitted screenshots of all her bonus missions. When we saw your review here on Trustpilot, we noticed that her review was gone. We emailed her and she said that she doesn't have FB and only activated it for the giveaway. We understand not wanting to have FB, but we realised this is unfair to other students who worked hard and feel upset when things don't line up. We would have honestly preferred to award the scholarship to someone who was more honest and engaged as well. We have made changes to the entry requirements and will make sure that this doesn't happen again.
We're also creating a public leaderboard so all participants have transparency into the giveaway and the tally of points. This way, students can email us if they see that people are cheating as well. This will be live in around two weeks.
Our team really enjoyed supporting you throughout the challenge and answering your questions. We also loved seeing you support other students too. It was a joy to watch and we hope that you don't leave feeling like this was a shady experience for you. Thank you again for making us aware of this issue. We want the challenge to be a fun and motivating place for everyone and this upgrade will make everyone's experience better and we are so grateful for your feedback <3
