To be honest, I'm surprised be the amount of positive reviews. I took part in the 14 days challenge and especially the last "mission" left me disappointed. Sarah announced that the last video would last for an hour and that she'd talk about hair profiles. Instead, the video was 41min. of advertising for the 5 week program - which costs 997$ "NOW instead" of over $3000. Why would it be so much cheaper if it was really worth the money?
However, the 14 days challenge had a few nice "missions" like making a homemade shampoo, but all in all the information given was very basic. I think a lot of the positive reviews here are a bit "fake" because writing a review gives you 50 extra points for the big giveaway (access to the premium program and apparently a lot of useful scripts). Of course, you wouldn't send in a bad review if you'd like to receive the giveaway (and who doesn't want to receive giveaway-prices haha). I would be really angry if I would have had to pay $300 or $250, that's how much the 14 days challenge usually costs. Luckily, I took a "special offer" with a 85% discount, so I "only" paid $37. I think this is more than enough since the challenge wasted quite some time - especially the last video.

We leave good reviews only to have a free book, that is not for free!!!
You will find here lot of good feedback because it's required to have the shampoo book for free!
Than of you pay more less 1000 dollars, for the next level, they will send you the book for free.
I think that not much of theese positive reviews are for real.

I expected more...
Before entering the 14 day callenge I did a survey for knowing if it was good for me or not, they ask you a lot of things about your hair and it always says that it is a good program for you, but at the end, they don't help you.
The challenge is just an introduction for buying the complete program and the book of shampoos, conditioners...
I'm having a good lifestyle, I count my macros (and because I like to maintain my muscular mass I eat a lot of protein), I meditate, I do sports everyday, I also use suplements (vitamins and minerals recommended by my doctor) and this where the same mentioned in the challenge (my result of the survey)... so this challenge is not useful for me!
At the end they give you 2 recipes of shampoos that are not even for your specific hair, and that's all!
The only good thing that I take from this "challenge" is the aloe vera (I was already eating it but now I know that is good for my hair too).
So, if you're not having a good lifestyle, it's the perfect challenge for you, but don't expect to improve your hair.

Pretty disappointed, honestly
I have to agree with the person who said that this course was mostly false advertising/a marketing scheme to sell a much more expensive product. It was discouraging to learn just enough information to know which products to throw away, but not enough to know how to actually find products that work, especially when the market is flooded with products that have blacklisted ingredients. It was nice to learn how to make a daily use shampoo, but at a minimum I feel we should've also learned how to make a conditioner and a sulfate shampoo, since she recommends that we use one, and since several people have tried to find one without blacklisted ingredients and haven't been able to.
I also noticed that Sarah's response to the other person who indicated they were dissatisfied with the course was quite defensive, and I would've liked to see her be a bit more receptive to the feedback. The two most important things I did learn from this course that work for me are tracking my protein intake and the effect that seems to be having on my hair, and doing an aloe scalp mask a couple of hours before washing my hair. Other than that, I can't say I'm taking away too much that I can really use.

False advertising
I would say this product was falsely advertised. It is stated to teach you all these amazing things and to transform your hair but basically the whole purpose of these two weeks are for her to sell her more expensive product (a 5 week program), she keeps on saying how "uhh so sorry we won't have enough time to cover this", but some videos are 4 minutes long, some tell you hey, exercise and hey meditate. We all know that already...
Anyhow not to rant on, I highly do NOT recommend. There are only two videos that are worth anything in the entire program.

Edit 22/09/20:
Hi Anja, It appears that you have just enrolled into the 5-Week Hair Growth Lab Program a day after I responded here. I didn't get a reply from you so I'm a little confused. Was this a misunderstanding or an initial reaction which does not represent how you feel anymore? Please let us know as we would love to close this case knowing that you are happy :)
Original response below:

Hi Anja, I'm so sorry to hear you are disappointed with the challenge. This is our first negative review here, and the entire team are excited to embrace this to make our service even better so that no one walks away disappointed like yourself. This response will be long, and we just want to thank you in advance for sharing your feedback. We just hope that you can offer us some more constructive feedback. I know you don't recommend the challenge, and that's totally fair. The challenge is not made for everyone, and I believe we share the same goal: helping other people decide if they should make the investment into the challenge or not.
Could you please share the parts where we falsely communicated what is offered in the challenge? We have no intention to mislead our customers whatsoever. If you could point us to that, we will immediately take action and work on communicating our offer better. The last thing we want is for any of our customers to feel mislead.
From what can see, the challenge is advertised as a two-week program that offers you 3 assets for better hair: a cleaned up haircare routine, a diet makeover and a morning routine. Along with that, we promised bonus resources to help you complete the challenge: 14 day video trainings, workbook, sulphate and silicone guide, haircare blacklist, lifestyle manual, meditation app, community, DIY haircare guide, etc. All of these resources are then delivered to you throughout the 14 days on our learning platform.
Can you tell me if any of this did not come across in our advertising and where we could improve this?
We also advertise the challenge as an entry point into holistic haircare, where you ditch your useless products to achieve better hair in 14 days. Additionally, we have done our very best to clearly communicate exactly what we offer and who it's for on our website and in our emails. From stating that the challenge is an introductory program, to labeling the resources as "Beginners Guide to ________", and stating that the challenge is best for less severe hair problems and that you can't expect miracles in 14 days. We also communicate that there are short-term wins, but most results are long-term as they are lifestyle-based.
If you feel like any of this is not clear, please let us know and we will definitely work on communicating this better. It's incredibly important to us and helps people figure out if it's right for them or not.
We also say if you have less serious issues such as split ends or dryness, then the challenge is going to be enough for you. We say that you are open to explore our advanced resources should you see fit. The 5-week program exists solely for women with more serious issues which are affecting their self-confidence. There are some women who join the challenge who've been suffering from hair loss or scalp issues for decades who may want to go further, and that's what the 5-week program is for. We also clearly communicate this when we advertise the program at the end of the challenge. We say that it is not for everyone, and you have to decide for yourself if it's even the right thing for your situation.
I thought this was important to communicate but do you feel like I should have repeated it more (and in more places) to get the message across? Did you personally miss this detail? I say this in emails, in the video and it's a response our customer service team is trained to provide as well. Do you think maybe we should include it in more places than that?
When I read your review, you wrote that I said "uhh so sorry we won't have enough time to cover this." It sounds like you are making it out to be like I didn't have an answer or a reason to say this except for to sell the advanced program. I would never say "sorry we don't have time" and leave it at that. I always explain the complexity and the commitment hair requires and why it wouldn't fit into the challenge. Please correct me if I'm wrong on that or if I misunderstood.
If I didn't misunderstand that, then I just want to say that it's simply not true. I say that we can't fit all of this advanced knowledge into the challenge with 100% conviction and I 100% stand by the reason why. Most women in the challenge wouldn't find it relevant for their hair problems and find it too much for their hair situation.
We have a team of scientists and specialists who help bring this 5-week program to our customers. We provide very specific and specalised knowledge and solutions and ot's a hell of a lot of work for us to deliver this service. It involves so many different specialised fields of study. We have to keep the classes small so that each expert has enough time to give each student the attention their hair deserves because haircare is such a delicate science. Everything in the 5-week program goes really deep, and it couldn't possibly fit into a fun and fast-paced 14-day self-care challenge. I communicate this too.
So when you say that the purpose of the challenge is to just to sell our 5-week program, that's honestly just false. We'd love to help as many students as possible, but the last thing we want is for thousands of students to join the program. Our team would be completely overwhelmed and the service we provide would suffer. That's why it's so important to us to communicate who it's for or who it's not for so we don't waste our time or our customers' time.
Sometimes there are edge cases, where women with less severe problems end up joining the advanced program anyway, as they really enjoyed the self-care and want to continue their hair journey for the fun. There are many reasons why someone would choose to join or not join the 5-week program and it's really personal to you and your circumstances.
Again, this is our first negative review here, and we hope for constructive feedback! I know this response was long, but it was worth writing and we hope it invites anyone reading on to provide feedback if they feel unsatisfied with our service.
Our business and community is built on self-love, self-growth and self-care. All we want is to build something that can help women feel confident and beautiful and the last thing we want is to mislead or waste your time. The majority of our customers report that they received much more than advertised and are very happy with their investment in the challenge. We know we can't make everyone happy, but we hope we can make as many happy as we can or least least help others make the right decision for themselves :)
Thank you again for your feedback and helping others figure out if the challenge is the right fit for them. Please feel free to email me directly at [email protected] with any additional feedback on our advertising and we'll tend to your request immediately! 💜

Sketchy at the end
I learnt a lot about hair health and health in general. It is definitely a very useful tool. I’m was so happy I took it ... until the last day when I felt it was a scam.
It is too expensive and on the last day we were deceived into a very long video advertising other products of her. The schedule (new material for learning) that was programmed for that day was never done.
When I exposed this on the community I got many comments of other girls agreeing on this. Sarah Tran and her team never gave us a straight explanation and they shut me down from the community, less than 24hours after I wrote my comment. I couldn’t even read all the answers I got and never got an explanation on why we didn’t get to have all the promised material to learn.
I felt scammed. Go ahead and take it if spending that much money doesn’t alter your budget at all and you are concern about your hair. Just then. Don’t sacrifice your holidays or any other thing that fills you with joy for it. It’s not worth it.

Hi Maite,
This is Sarah. I'm so sorry to hear that you feel scammed and have updated your previously positive review to a negative one. I'm grateful for bad reviews and feedback, as it really helps us to improve the service the best way we can. I understand that you really enjoyed the challenge and were very engaged with the community throughout the 14 days. And I can truly see that you now feel disappointed and I'm really sorry for that and I hope we resolve the problem at hand.
This morning, the team shared all the exchanges they had with you so I can do my best to help you. I'll just break down your concerns step-by-step and I hope you can let me know how I can fix our communication so that this doesn't happen again. In addition to this, please feel free to email me at [email protected] and I am more than happy to issue you a refund for the trouble.
Let's just dive into the issues you addressed! On the final mission, the description box says:
Now for the mission.... today’s agenda includes a review of:
-The 14 days that have just gone by
-The unique hair profile
-The next steps for your hair journey
-The Hair Growth Lab experience
For us, this includes walking you back in time to help you understand why you created the 3 assets, how it fits into your present lifestyle and the part it will play in your future. We went over the haircare profile again and what it comprises of and the complexity of each factor and how they interconnect. We then spoke about the next steps, the possible options for you going forward. In this part, we clearly communicate that the challenge is enough and you can end the journey here. We say that 5-week program isn't for everyone but we know that some people with more hair concerns will be interested. We then continue to share more about the Hair Growth Lab experience for the people who are interested to continue their journey.
From reading your emails and comments to the team, it seems like you were expecting a full haircare profile assessment? If so, I truly apologise for this misunderstanding. Did you by any chance skip a few videos throughout the challenge? Over the 14 days, we specifically pointed out that the challenge is an introductory course and we will not be doing the full assessment because it is very information-heavy and time-intensive and takes 3 weeks to complete.
From the top of my head, I believe I mentioned this in several places including "Day 0 - Challenge Preparation", "Mission #1 - Haircare Housekeeping", "Mission #11 - Formulate, Test and Review Your Homemade Shampoo" and a few other videos. We also have this in our FAQs which are in the description boxes of several videos throughout the challenge.
In addition to that, we intentionally mentioned this in the very first videos (day 0 - day 4). That way, if you joined thinking you were going to do the full 3-week assessment, then you can still take advantage of our 7-Day Refund Policy. We have this policy specifically for customers who expected something else when they joined or aren't happy with the course for any reason. I understand that you might have missed this, and we will gladly offer you a refund in this case. If you can, could you give us some feedback on where we could communicate this further so this doesn't happen again?
You mentioned that you exposed this in the community. I just checked and I can see that suggested that we work through the hair profile assessment. A few girls comments agreeing that this is a good idea to end the challenge.
I can understand that you really want to take the assessment. I noticed that you mentioned it several times throughout the challenge that you really wanted to join the 5-week program. However, as I've said before, it's a really long process. It's 3 weeks long 🙈I know I keep saying this, but I hope you can understand why we can't do this in a 14-day introductory challenge. Additionally, it's not relevant for every participant, because most have less serious hair problems and choose to take part in the challenge for the holistic hair and health learnings.
You mentioned that we shut you out of the community. As mentioned on Day 0 (the very first written missions that you complete) plus day 15 (the very last video that you watch), you will unlock a new community after you complete a set of missions, and at the end, all communities will be cleared out to make room for the next group of challenge participants. A new challenge starts on Sunday and that's when everything resets. You finished on a Sunday so that's why it happened on that day.
The reason we need to clear the communities out is because there at 14 missions. If you are on Day 1, you should be able to complete your mission without being bombarded with people posting their final missions. This keeps the community organised, and provides a better experience for each group to complete their missions along with their starting group.
I hope I was able to clearly explain all the points you mentioned throughout your exchanges with me and the HGL team. Please let me know if anything else is unclear or where we can improve. I don't want you to feel scammed, and again, I would like to offer you a courtesy refund even though we are past the refund period. Please email me at [email protected] and I will process this immediately. I truly appreciate your feedback and I honestly feel really bad that you feel so disappointed in our service. I also do agree with your last point. Our services are not worth it if you don't have bad hair problems.
There are so many ways to feel happy, beautiful and confident. You can land your dream job which you worked all your life to get. You can purchase the perfectly fitting dress that compliments your curves in all the right ways. You can read a lot of personal development books and learn to accept yourself as you are. You can invest in a really nice spa or gym and get into nutrition. Soo many possibilities and options to feel beautiful, for so many uniquely different people in this beautiful world.
We have a service that can provide this for our unique group of customers, but everyone is diffferent which means not everyone should be our customer, and that's really ok <3
