Not a good experience for me
The first person I worked with was great, but it went downhill from there. I was asked for the same information multiple times. I gave all of my bank account info up front, but they scrutinized my down payment to the nth degree. On a critical day before closing both people I was working with were out of the office with no backup staff. They sent preliminary documents to the title company at 7 pm on Friday with a Monday closeing scheduled. On the day of the closing, I still didn't have final numbers, so I had to go with an estimate on what I needed. They finally sent the funds to the title company 2 hours after my scheduled closing. The underwriters seemed to want nothing more than to nit pick everything. Also, never in my life have I had a loan with a pre-payment penalty. Now I do. If I had to do it again, knowing what I know now, I would not consider Griffin Funding. Note: I am on EST and they are on west coast time. They seemingly did not consider the time zone difference although they knew from the start.
