Since we began specializing in selling folding bikes online in 2001, our goal has always been to offer quality folding bikes at the best possible prices, without ever sacrificing customer service. By manufacturing and purchasing large quantities of folding bicycles from state-of-the-art factories overseas, it allows us to bypass the distributors and wholesalers and negotiate our lowest prices directly with the owners of the factories. This is the reason we are able to offer you these tremendous savings. We encourage you to compare the quality and prices of our folding bicycles with similar bikes from other local bike shops and online sellers; and we are confident that once you do, you will be back to shop with us.

Just an update on our folding tandem that we've had for a couple of years now. Love the bike! It did however need a few upgrades: 1. The plastic pedals, a previous reviewer mentioned them breaking, well yes they do, when a bit of pressure is put on them e.g. when climbing a hill, so now I have 4 folding metal pedals, and no issues! 2. New brakes: callipers and cables, especially the rear one - this was necessary because the spring mechanisms on the supplied callipers weren't very responsive, so I now have new callipers and cables and no issues. 3. Mountain bike tires replaced the slick tyres, essential if you riding on any surface that isn't a totally smooth surface.
Most importantly though, as with any folding bike, prior to every ride remember to ispect the bracket where the fold is made on the frame, as this is likely to be a potential weak point.
Happy cycling!

Very nice folding tandem for the price
Original Review 10/28/17: Very nice bike for the price. Sturdy and the weight was not more than I expected for this type of bike. Assembly was easy. Step-over height is low which we appreciate. I decided to buy this folding tandem because I was concerned about how long a tandem bike would be on the back of a car. It also was hard to find overall dimensions of non-folding tandems. This tandem is about 92” long unfolded. After seeing it mounted on the back of our minivan, we probably did not need the folding feature, but it’s still nice to have, especially when mounted on our smaller car. It was a huge challenge figuring out how to mount it on our bike carrier, especially with the bike folded. The spokes were in the way, and the center of gravity of the bike was very high, making it want to flop over. Eventually I came across a bike adapter bar that’s usually used to make it easier to mount girls’ bikes. It was perfect for mounting the tandem. The feature that we like the most about this bike is the independent coasting feature. It makes it very easy to start and stop. GreenZone calls it an Independent Pedaling System on their website, but that is not really accurate, because both riders still have to pedal at the same speed for each rider to contribute to the pedaling effort. The other feature we really like is the high handlebars. The person on the back can see more than just the back of the front person (unless the front person is much taller). Note that the seats are a little closer together than some other tandems. We had to raise the front seat and move the front seat forward and the back seat rearward so that the back rider’s knees did not hit the handlebar. It would be more of a problem if the back rider was much taller than the front rider. We had just a couple of small quality problems. The back brake was sluggish and we could not get the front chain tight with the tensioner. GreenZone was very good working with us to resolve the problems. A suggestion for the future would be for GreenZone to change the front chain tensioner to a spring type tensioner vs. a manual adjustment. I am also considering changing the 7-speed gearset to a wider range to give more help on hills. The current gearset does not allow us to tackle more than just a pretty small hill. It’s not a big problem since we mostly do rail trails, but it’s not quite sufficient for much more than that. It’s an older style Shimano “freewheel” gearset (14,16,18,20,22,24,28), so choices are limited. The only wider range that Shimano still makes is a MegaGear that changes the largest gear from 28 tooth to 34 tooth, but that would make a large jump between gear 1 and 2. Other choice would be to replace the wheel with a wheel that has a newer style “cassette” such as the HG50.
Update 8/26/18: One of the front folding pedals shattered at the pivot, so we had to walk it home. We aren't athletes, and we don't use the bike very often, so I was surprised that it shattered. Folding pedals don't really make it easier to transport the bike if you're transporting it using a bike carrier, so I replaced both front pedals with non-folding pedals, which should be stronger than folding pedals.

Convenient, easy to store and it catches a lot of attention on the subway!
I am a 4'11 petite person, I love my bike! I travel by bike and public transportation in the SF Bay Area. It isn't overall heavy so carrying up subway steps isn't hard at all. Subways during rush hour get very packed, but with my bike, I just fold it up and spare the public some space. The fact that it folds up has been a time saver. My friends offer me rides and it's totally not an issue because the bike fits perfectly in their standard car trunk. I've had my bike for about two years. the base is durable but I'll probably have to change the wheel's mud/water guards soon.

Great little bike.......one little problem
My wife and I have enjoyed these little bikes for awhile now. They seem to be well made with only a few minor aesthetic flaws. All in all, we are very satisfied. I had only one little problem which was mostly my fault. The pedals have a very strong spring. When unfolding the pedal, it caught my little finger, bent it back and broke it at the base joint. It is right in the worst place for a firm handshake and it gets crunched regularly. The pain is always there although steroid shots seem to help (I hate the shot between the fingers)!
Be careful when you fold/unfold the pedals!!

Hello Tom,
much better to just use your open palm when opening and folding pedals like shown in the video. Hope finger gets better!
Thanks for your kind words,
Alan

Nice bike, but be careful about your expectations (and first ride)
I need bike access when on travel. I did quite a bit of research prior to my purchase, and have a good biking background over many years. I bought the premium black Greenzone bike a month or so back and had it shipped to my daughter for her gift and my use during my upcoming visit. She only took it out of the box, checked the tires and let it sit until my arrival. We got there and were impressed by the quality frame, easy folding mechanism and some good quality components. It did have rather cheap tires and a easily bent soft metal chain guard ring.
Folding and unfolding is easier than my Dahon Curve (several years old), but i think it does need some fold/closure mechanism (strap or magnets) while holding closed it during transport. As is, It opens easily when folded and is then an awkward hold to keep it folded while holding and loading into a trunk.
My first ride was interrupted by a bent chain guard ring, that i needed to unbend with my trusty leathermand tool. Must have bent during transport out of the box, but i don't know. Everything was fine at that point, until our big ride. We planned a bike trail ride of several miles and my wife would use the Greenzone. She said the seat was hard, but we knew it might needed to be upgraded at some point. We rode about 2 miles and one of her pedals fell off. Shocking, but i found that the other pedal was also loose. Fortunately, the one pedal had not stripped the threads too bad and i was able to replace / tighten both. I don't know if that is a factory omission, or something my daughter did not do when taking out of the box. The rest of the ride was uneventful and fun. I preferred the Greenzone to my 16 inch tired Dahon Curve.
As a whole, it is a fine bike for the price. It rides great, feels stable at speed and is great for recreational use, but don't expect it to be in the same league as a tricked out Brompton,Tern, Dahon or Bike Friday. Like any new bike, it is a good idea to inspect thoroughly and not assume perfection out of the box. Would i buy another?...if i had only $300...a definite yes. I like my dahon for take down / suitcase travel, but the Greenzone is a fair product at a fair price.

Love the Bicycle's
The bicycles are just what I was looking for, the height is perfect for me and something that I always looked for in a bike. Now that the weather is getting cooler outside we will start using the bikes on a regular basis.
It took a long time to receive the bike's but it was well worth the wait.

Hello Judy,
Glad you are enjoying your GZ bikes. Having our GreenZone Bikes featured on Good Morning America was amazing, except for selling out fast. Glad it was worth the wait. Normally bikes arrive to you in just a few days.
thanks

Love the bike!
Owned the bike for almost 2 years now. Has a great ride. In a short time, the rubber piece that holds the handlebar lock in place broke. The brake noodles recently rusted off. The case only lasted one year.

Hi Mark,
Glad you love the Bike! We give bag away free on all 20" bikes, they last longer if you hold the bag by the bike frame to keep from putting too much pressure on the bag itself. They are made of strong canvas so better than most and FREE.
thanks
