I researched Atlee Miller and Greenfield Puppies only to find detailed reports, including photos, outlining horrific conditions. They are on the Humane Society's Horrible Hundred list. Photos of the awful conditions are found under Atlee Miller on the Companion Animal Protection Society‘s website.

This company pretends to be genuine but…
This company pretends to be genuine but they do not follow through with any of their promises. Beware if you get a pup that’s full of parasites like mine was. They will act like they care but do nothing about it. Breeders are not reputable!

... THIS IS A PUPPY MILL LAUNDERING RING
... Puppy mills whether amish, non amish & even AKC certified; could have hundreds of dogs, in some cases fed sawdust with grease drizzled on top, kept in below zero temps in winter, 90 degrees in summer, cSections, ear cropping & tail docking without anesthesia, metal pipe down the throat if barking, kept in too small of cages. If they dont eat their poop, the cage gets pressure washed, with them in it. Dogs are bred the second they are able for the next 7-8 years, no love, no toys, no walking. When no longer able to produce, many get suffocated in the manure pile, drowned, or shot. Puppy mills are licensed by USDA and USDA issues violations, but doesn’t conduct enough or any follow up visits.
Puppy mill laundering ring, is where puppy mills sell puppies to front houses, pet stores or even rescues, who are nice people in nice houses, so when someone comes to buy them, they think this is all legit, giving the illusion of a positive experience. You may even be able to meet the "parents" which are actually the family pets that had nothing to do with the litter. The real parents live in puppy mill terror. The inspections are so minimalistic, who cares if they pass the next time!
If you enter a name from the Horrible Hundred report, into Google Maps, you will see the dozens of front houses (dog breeders) they are associated with. Thats how I found this business.
Theres no way to know anymore, of who is legit, with 10,000 puppy mills in the US. We are killing millions of dogs a year because Puppy Mills, backyard breeders and monstrous labs experimenting on them & breed them when we already have millions of dogs in the shelter system who need homes.
Don’t pay thousands for a designer dog, that usually has genetic defects from misbreeding. Instead give a life to a shelter dog who really needs love and a life, or faces death if no one saves them.
There are no "responsible breeders" while thousands of unwanted dogs are being killed everyday. Love dogs? Then don’t support the puppy mill pipeline, go rescue one from a shelter

We appreciate people advocating for animal welfare, and it's important that discussions are based on documented facts.
Many of the conditions described are serious allegations. When reviewing breeders, we rely on official inspection records and enforcement actions rather than unverified claims. Those records often show both violations and, when applicable, whether they were corrected.
For example:
• Amos King (Fort Plain, NY) had 8 state violations but passed his April inspection. The claim that he "refused inspection" is not supported by the inspection record.
• Chris & Sally Blank (Gap, PA) failed inspections after wardens ordered veterinary examinations for four consecutive years and were ultimately banned.
• Jesse B. Esch (New Providence, PA) accumulated many violations since October 2025 but corrected the violations and passed the May 2026 inspection.
• Sam & Ruth Kauffman (Chesterview Kennels, Honey Brook, PA) received a cruelty referral involving improper tail docking. Those violations were corrected before passing their June 2026 inspection.
• Brookwood Collies (Danville, PA) had numerous violations involving sanitation and temperature regulation. While those issues were corrected by May 2026, the kennel remains banned because of the volume and severity of past violations.
• Levi & Rachel Smucker (Millersburg, PA) failed an October 2025 inspection for filthy conditions and overdue veterinary exams but subsequently passed inspections in November 2025 and March 2026.
• Matthew Stoltzfus (Gap, PA) failed an inspection in January 2026 for cobwebs, debris, dust but was found in compliance during inspections in September 2025 and again in April 2026.
• Stephen Zook (Manheim, PA) has gone in and out of compliance, with violations in January and May 2026 and passing inspections in April and June 2026. Due to inability to stay in compliance we have banned this breeder.
It's also important to clarify that we are not affiliated with or employing the breeders who advertise on our platform. We are an advertising service that connects prospective puppy buyers with breeders. We do not own, manage, or operate breeding facilities, nor do we conduct inspections. We monitor publicly available inspection records and take compliance seriously when making decisions about listings.
We encourage anyone looking for a puppy to do their own research, review inspection histories, ask questions, visit breeders when possible, and make the decision that feels right for them. Whether someone chooses to adopt from a shelter or purchase from a breeder, we believe informed decisions based on verified information are the best approach. Thank you for your continued effort in helping us make the dog owner community a safer place!

TOTAL SCAM
Specifically, the breeder Lavern Stolzfus. He lies about the puppies health conditions. All of a sudden when you pressure him for details, oh yeah, the dog has a heart murmur. When I insisted he supply me with the Vets Paperwork, an hour later he sends me a picture of some Vet paperwork, ONE PAGE, with absolutely no information on it. It contained a date, some check marks of categories he claims were performed by the vet, and a scribbled signature on the bottom. This is NOT official paperwork. This is him using the same piece of paper every time someone pressures him for the documents. Here is another review I found about the Vet - This entire operation is disgusting!!!!!!!
Do not go here and do not trust these people with your pets. Their right and license to practice should be revoked. These people work with puppy mills handing out fake health certifications for dogs that should not be bred. They are contributing to the pain and suffering of countless animals. They are the exact opposite of what it stands for to be a Veterinarian and should be ashamed. The supposed vet Gary P VanDyke is actually operating under an expired license as well after doing some research.
Greenfield replied to my concerns and I fo not believe anything they said. This entire operation is disgusting and should be shut down. It is obvious just from all the online complaints. After this horrible experience I went to HONESTPET.COM, and what a different experience. It was a 5 star experience from the beginning to the end. Nothing but open upftont policies and honestly. Trust me, stay away from the scammers
Greenfield puppies answered me for the 2nd time with more bullshit. I am not the only one with the same exact complaint. The paperwork the disgusting breeder sent me is from Churchtown Veterinary Clinic, who by the way NEVER answer the phone during supposed working hours. Look them up and you will see consumer affair complaints stating the paperwork had no name of the pup, no DOB, no gender, no information about the pup. Greenfield gave a different name of the vet, Kevin Mcfadden who they now claim looked at the pups. I spoke to Kevin and he said its the responsibility of the breeder to fill out the dogs info. WHAT? This is insane. Maybe the Vet is a stand up guy, but this breeder is obviously a liar. You are rolling the dice if you purchase through this agency

Thank you for taking the time to write this review. We will be following up with the breeder and are looking into this accusation.
6/26 Update: We were able to confirm the heart murmur in the puppy was diagnosed as very low grade which can be common in young puppies and most often clears as they get older. The puppy is also getting checked again by the vet. This breeder is using a licensed vet. Unfortunately the breeder didn't fill out the paperwork for each puppy so it appears suspicious. Thank you again for bringing these issues to our attention so that we could speak to the breeder.
7/13 Update: The vet Gary VanDyke is retired and is not the vet who checked these pups and signed the paperwork. Kevin McFadden is a licensed veterinarian who is the owner of this practice now. He checked each puppy in this litter and signed the paperwork.

Broker contracts Amish puppy mills
This company is a money hungry puppy mill broker. FACT. We believed they were legit. We purchased 2 dobermans from a contracted breeder, (Mr. Kings AMISH puppy mill in PA) 8 weeks apart. This broker does NOT EVALUATE THE BREEDERS he contracts. Of course they’re going to say they don’t have puppy mills!! They offered ear cropping. Our male was mutilated with only six stitches per ear, with the cartilage sticking out, rushed him to the animal hospital. They could not believe the damage done to our puppy. Cost another $1500.00 to repair. The breeder Mr. King cut them himself. Our female wasn’t cropped, but when she came home her breathing was normal. Our baby died in her sleep at only 16 weeks old from DCM. Dilated Cardiomyopathy. The #1 killer of this breed. This company, and this Amish breeder, are breeding sick parents, all for profit. They are debarking the dogs (metal rods forced down their throats to prevent barking). This happened to many families and continues today. It’s not an isolated incident. Please 🙏🏻 stop purchasing from brokers online with cute puppy photos. These dogs are living in conditions unmeasurable to hell. Adopt from shelters that already have these puppies in their care. Don’t suffer the same heartbreak we did. Our male is still alive, only his mother was sick, not the father. Also, the chart you’re handed with the puppies shots from the Amish breeder? It’s all a lie, these puppies NEVER see a vet, or get their shots. The sticker is mass purchased for all the charts. (Notice the same pen, and handwriting for each so called visit?) This is our TRUTH, and I will never stop fighting for the safety of these animals.

Thank you for taking the time to write this review. We are very sorry that this is your experience and hope you can give us more information on who this breeder is so we can look into this terrible situation. Owner was just charged with aggravated…
Owner was just charged with aggravated cruelty to animals. Verifiable with a Google/News search. Definitely a puppy mill. Do not buy from this breeder.
Response from Greenfield PuppiesMay 15, 2026
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Greenfield Puppies has zero tolerance for animal cruelty, neglect, or puppy mill practices of any kind.
After becoming aware of the reported aggravated cruelty to animals charges involving this breeder, we immediately suspended all listings associated with the account pending a full investigation. The breeder will not be permitted to advertise on our platform while this matter is being reviewed.
Greenfield Puppies is an advertising and marketing platform for independent breeders and is not the owner, operator, or manager of any breeder's facilities. We take the health, safety, and humane treatment of dogs extremely seriously. Any breeder found engaging in abuse, neglect, inhumane conditions, or unethical breeding practices is subject to a permanent ban from our platform.
Greenfield Puppies has previously removed and permanently banned multiple breeders who violated our policies and standards, and we will continue to take strong action whenever credible concerns involving animal welfare arise.

As a breeder
As a breeder, my experience with Greenfield Puppies was disappointing. I received a high volume of scam inquiries, which made the platform more of a headache than a helpful tool. Unfortunately, I did not receive a single legitimate buyer who found my puppies through the site. Considering the high cost to list puppies, the return simply wasn’t there. Overall, it was not a worthwhile investment for my program.

I wish they were honest I regret…
I wish they were honest I regret getting a mini poodle from greenfield the dog is beautiful! But behavior is another thing I we have tried to potty training for 5 months. Doing everything all the videos, the professional dog trainers. This dog refuses to go outside both urine and poop. Very aggressive behavior. Granted my fault I did not see parents of my dog. As I have been reading about Greenfields in Pennsylvania, many of these dogs are from puppy mills. Yes they had papers and vet reports. And said he was not from a mill. Amish breeders are in business to make a quick buck. I have had 2 mini poodles in the past. They were very trainable kind never aggressive. Buyer beware . Very upset

We are so sorry to hear about this negative experience with a breeder. Were you able to fill out a complaint form on the website so we can look into the particular breeder's practices?
