After buying my property in Memphis, I never received a single on-time payment from my tenant that Great Jones placed. They were very quick to give leniency to the tenant, and now the tenant still isn't paying 5 months later. They told me that she had moved out, then when I fired Great Jones, we found out that she DIDN'T move out, and had been squatting in the property. Horrible communication, terrible record keeping, and mismanagement of funds on multiple occasions. I bought this property in May, and my new manager and I are still trying to clean up the mess that Great Jones caused.
Roofstock, you should be embarrassed to have any affiliation with this company. Buying them was an enormous mistake.

Scammers
We moved into a property in GA from Colorado. We got to the property it had NO AC or Hot Water.. it took them 20 days to fix this. Then our AC broke and it took them 3 months to fix it. The AC was costing us $400 a month in electric and then went back down to $200 as soon as they finally fixed it and they never helped us pay for those bills. We were begging for them to fix the AC because it was costing us so much money and it took them 3 whole months to finally have a tech fix the issue. Then our hot water went out and it took them 10 days to send out someone to fix it. They rented me a lemon house basically that had a million problems and it was impossible to get ahold of them. It was impossible to make anyone care. Don’t rent from this company! Trust the 2 star reviews you see on this company because they’re horrible

Worst experience as a Owner
Absolutely terrible experience... Horrible communication, late on updates/repairs/invoicing. Do not use this company for any property management for your rental properties.
Plus.... they had NO IDEA that a squatter was in my property. It was only when my replacement property manager went out to inspect that I found out and had to inform Great Jones....

Great jones is HORRIBLE
Great jones is the worse property management company I have ever dealt with. My A/C went out in Aug in the dead middle of summer and it took them 2 weeks to fix it. I paid my rent on time for 3 years even during COVID when most people stopped paying rent. With that experience I decided to out and now Great Jones is trying to recoup their money from installing a new A/C unit by saying I damaged the home. I have filed a complaint with the BBB and posted pics of the residence. These people have bad communication, poor customer service and care for the tenants and only contact when they deem fit. If you read this Great Jones know that I'm ready to go to court to dispute your charges. I would not recommend anyone rent from these crooks.

They left me confused for life!
My encounter with Great Jones will probably have me scratching my head the rest of my life.
I live in Atlanta but was considering moving to Alabama. I drove there around May2022,to look at houses and go for an interview with the housing authority. I am on section 8.
After almost getting scammed TWICE,I ran across Great Jones website. I was told to go to the actual site instead of the sister companies because many are fake sites. By July I began conversing one on one, with Rodrigo Gonzales. I told him I was running out of time and after running a background check he promised a particular house to me. The background check was actually done and I had no reason to be suspicious. That was, until it was time to pay the deposit. They tried to say there was no deposit to be paid but that I must get home insurance instead. The insurance had to be paid for 3 years. After doing some digging I realized THEY were supposed to pay the insurance. Because once I moved out the insurance is non-refundable. Who wants to pay every month and not get a penny back in the end? I realized he hadnt been honest so I had to be careful. He knew that i was disabled and retired. And that my money come in on the 3rd. So the 1st month rent $1,200 had to be paid right away. Problem is, they hadnt even contacted my caseworker to draw up a contract between them and Secrion8 for their portion that they pay. This made me cautious. Three months of back and forth, then all of a sudden he expected me to just wire him that kind of money. He threatened to give the house to someone else if i didnt send 1200 pronto!
I asked if he would call section 8 to confirm that their company was legit and he wouldnt do it. He was ready to forget about the whole thing! Putting people in desperation mode is a common scamming tactic.
Imagine 3 months of hope and he was ready to drop it. I realized I had to trick him into calling Section 8. I came up with some story about how my caseworker needed to get some number from them or she would kick me off the program for going pass the expiration date.
IT WORKED.
He called her and she confirmed that the company didnt exist and Rodrigo didnt know a thing about property management or leasing. She even spoke to HER boss about it. And Great Jones, the property management company DIDNT EXIST!
Now this puzzles me. I see all the poor reviews so it must be a legit business. But somethings not right about this company. They probably do buy up property to sell. But I dont think they rent many like they claim. I kinda think the reviews are fake.
Maybe They must keep changing the name due to shady business practices. I just dunno I am confused.

If I could give Streetlane Homes and…
If I could give Streetlane Homes and Great Jones no stars, I would. Major issue is the lack of communication. You can't get anyone on the phone. You are in this constant email tag. Renters beware. I found out that Streetlane Homes purchased Great Jones and my lease was transferred once I signed the documents. I received an email with the notification. Whoever thought virtual leasing offices was a great idea, is sorely mistaken. I waited 3 weeks to submit a google review. How you are seduced into renting is the the option of using Rhino. Rhino is like buying insurance on your security deposit. At this point, I wish I would have just paid the damn deposit and gotten I home from another company. This rules for renting wasn't clear. I moved from out of state and had to travel multiple times because the property which I applied for suddenly wasn't available. You must view the property or have someone else physically walk through the property. I learned this with only 2 weeks left before moving. I was told that the property could only be held for 2 weeks from your leasing date. Now, this was communicated to me after l placed my application and my credit was check. I had to settled for a house (on my third attempt) in a rougher part of town in order to move in by the start of my job. I was provided with assistance to transfer and turn on new utilities. This third party goal objective is to sell you internet service and home security. For most part, I turn on my utilities myself. The property information listed will not tell you the security deposit nor the pet fees associated with renting from this company. When I applied online, I submitted all income requirements and identification. However, once I was approve based on my credit, I was asked to resubmit documentation. I believed this lack of structure caused me to lose 2 houses that I really wanted. Because you see, you will be emailing constantly and not speaking with anyone by phone. When you call Rently which is the another company (not sure if it is owned by Streetlane or Great Jones), they will take messages for the lease agent to call you back. I moved into my rental on August 31, 2022. I was sent an email the night before advising me on the lockbox code for the key. I wasn't told where the lockbox would be located. I arrived in Columbus, GA at 10 pm. It took me over 30 minutes searching for the lockbox. Lets just say it wasn't attached to any doors. My email advised that a move in team would contact prior to moving in to review information and answer questions. I received no call, but an email. When I arrived, my grass wasn't cut, heavy tree branches located all over my back yard, tree roaches in the home, and spider webs. The maintenance crew who was here place trash and construction items in the recycling bin that one the trash collection won't pickup and two I can't physically move. My hold fee which is my first month's rent hasn't been transferred from Great Jones to Streetlane Homes and today I receive any email from the collection department with a final notice for eviction. I am being charged a late fee, and administration fee that was never disclosed to me by Great Jones. I emailed over a week ago requesting that this charge be removed. I am seriously hoping that this will not need to be a legal matter. I will definitely not rent from Streetlane Homes, Great Jones, nor any virtual renting company again. If you have read my entire valid complaint, I recommend that YOU don't rent either.

RUN AWAY FAST
RUN! Great Jones is terrible. Do not give them the benefit of the doubt as I did. I was without air conditioning the ENTIRE Summer (end of May-beginning of September) in the South. It reached temperatures of 100° outside and 85° in my home. I was in direct communication with my property manager, Laura Nelson, who knew I had a small child in my home and did nothing to resolve the situation. It wasn't until I filed a complaint with the better business bureau that I got any resolution. While they FINALLY fixed the a/c, just in time for fall, they did promise me concession for the additional $400/mo th I incurred on my power bill due to the broken a/c, electrical and plumbing issues in my home and they did not give me one penny. Instead, they transferred me to a different banner within their corporation, Streetlane homes, so I could no longer submits requests through my tenant portal regarding this matter. Mind you I've paid my rent in full on time every single month for the 2.5 years I have lived in this property. I give Great Jones and Laura Nelson, personally, ZERO STARS, but Google doesn't allow it. As I said RUN, RUN FAR AWAY... you have been warned!!!!!!!!!

Non-Renewal of lease while deployed overseas
Super shady. They took over Mgmt of a home I had been renting for years. No missed payments or issues ever. Sent me a letter of non-renewal for the lease while I was deployed overseas. No wiggle room or understandings. Incredibly stressful. It's not even that they're incompetent, they just don't care. Stay away from this absolute joke of a company. Im very happy they have so many negative reviews. My wife posted a scathing review earlier and it was removed.
