Grainger is priced to sell to government, their prices are so far out of whack that for the last 5 years I haven't purchased a single item from them. I spend tens of thousands of dollars on maintenance parts ans supplies a year. Don't support them, look elsewhere, the sooner Grainger folds, the sooner our government sponges will have to go look for a competitive price.

I recently set up a business account with Grainger online, and had high hopes of buying items from them that I use and sell most. I had heard from so many people (businesses) that Grainger is the way to go if you're a business or contractor. However, right after creating my new account, I logged on to have a look at some items that I use most and or pass on to my customers. I found higher prices at Grainger than I did anywhere else on most items. For instance: The Reliance 10 circuit transfer switch. I was absolutely SHOCKED to see it priced at over $600.00ea at Grainger- MY COST- as a business. I have been buying them from Home Depot for $375.00ea - At anyone’s cost! I contacted Grainger and asked them about this. They replied with "As you purchase more from Grainger your discounts MAY increase." So… I have to spend twice the price for their items - so I MAY get a discount at some point in the future that may be about what I am spending for them now anywhere else??? Does that make any sense at all??? Not to me!! I found, on average, for items I buy and sell, that Grainger was $200 to $300 more than I pay at the “Big Box” stores for the exact same items. Sad - huh? Unfortunately for them - fortunately for me, I promptly deactivated my account with Grainger and will seek business elsewhere. Perhaps that's what they want - to turn businesses away who don't spend millions per year there. Maybe they feel that by marking their prices so high for some, small or new businesses will simply shop elsewhere- and if they chose to still buy from Grainger, well then that's just a lot of extra pocket lining for them. Folks swear by the great prices, but sadly, I couldn't see it. I would not be able to sleep at night, passing on these huge overages to my customers. No thanks Grainger!!

The thing I like best about Grainger is that there is no waiting 15 minutes to talk to a real person. Whenever I have a question I simply call and I'm talking to an actual person within 15 seconds. Its also nice being able to buy everything I need from one store. Saves my business a lot of time and hassle.

I have never bought anything from Grainger, but I have contacted them with questions about products and they have always been lightning fast to respond and never tried to force me to buy anything like some other companies do. I was actually sent to them by coworkers who have ordered from them and loved them...

In all my dealings with Grainger, I have never had a problem with either ordering or picking up whatever I needed from them. Extremely friendly service and convenient locations.
