Item was good, received it quickly, but the shipping price is ridiculous. I own a business and ship a lot of things and I know shipping is expensive. However, $20 for a 4” x 4” box that weighs a pound is excessive, I think.

I'm working with Tim Richardson on a land bid that I won. I just received the DocuSign agreement. Looking over it, I'm noticing that there are finance charges, something that the website said they wouldn't do. I'm confused. The land is very raw and there are no roads that lead directly to it besides a nearby highway. The document states that my final payment will include taxes and road maintenance fees. That could be any crazy amount. The price is not concrete unless I pay upfront. I'll be going over this with my lawyer and I'll return to this review once I've completed the transaction... or not.
Response from Government AuctionApr 18, 2024
Thank you for your comments but we can't find you in our system as there is nobody by the name or handle of "HairFreek Barbers" listed nor can Tim who you refer to can place you either. If you could provide us a customer name or invoice # we will then be able to provide you all the specific details in order to make a complete response. We think you are confused as to the terms and conditions. 1. Please review the full listing page of the land property you refer to as the full financing charge is 100% disclosed on every property along with the property tax requirement. You must have missed it somehow while viewing. 2. Also there is nowhere on the website that states what you refer to regarding no finance charges. We offer property for as little as $1 down and you can either pay in full, (no finance charges) OR make monthly installment payments, (w finance charges) but there are no prepayment penalties, and you can pay the property off at any time allowing you to avoid and save on future interest expense. 3. If the land is raw and undeveloped it will be disclosed as such plus there are aerial photos and GPS coordinates to complete any due diligence on your end prior to any commitment required. 4. Taxes are not "a crazy amount" and are usually less than $100 per year---the specific amount is disclosed on your DocuSign contract for full review and diligence prior to any commitment needed on your end. 5. You can also call or email us to provide any additional support---we have not heard from you on any of the above. Why? 6. Lastly, we offer a full 100% refund within 4 days for whatever reason you choose, as we only want happy and satisfied customers. Please email us today if you would like to cancel and refund. Regards,
Chris
A few things: First, be aware that the price listed for land purchases will not reflect the actual cost. To me, the listings are deceptive by design and intentional in terms of omissions. Specifically, I bid on a piece of land. The listing said, "your winning bid is for the down payment and the is subtracted from the price of $8,929 you then make monthly installment payments at $159/month at 12% interest. There is a buyer's premium of 17.5% on your down payment amount only and a low $249 closing cost." The contract I received after successfuly bidding was $4,195.51 more than listed and labeled as "interest on the unpaid balance of cash price." As a result, the purchase price after my bid (used for down payment) is $13,119.51 and payments are in fact $159.99. Secondly, I don't think an emerald should turn your hand green if handled. Sapphire should not be able to be easily scratched by glass or steel. However I found all of these things when purchasing on this website. I didn't think I was buying jeweler quality gemstones, but what I received makes me question my purchase. The discrepancies between the listing and contract on the land, to me, shows deceptive methods are the norm. Avoid, there are other and more reputable ways to bid on interesing things!
