I won on my first auction. That was pretty cool.

That's a pretty cool way to begin. So glad it went your way, and best of luck with your next bid!

This online auction, at best, is mediocre. I’ve only won one auction on a pair of socks, but I’ve spent a considerable amount of money on each item. I’m not sure if this is the best option for an online auction, especially since there’s no clear indication of when it will end. It would be helpful if the auction had a clear end time and if the rules were explained in more detail. I suppose reading other reviews that say it’s a good value for what you put in, but I’m not so sure about the competition or the price at the end. I feel like I’ve lost more money.

Thanks for the thoughtful and honest review, it's genuinely useful for us. We know the format takes some getting used to, particularly the timing, and our tutorials and FAQ break down how points, bidding, and auction extensions all work together. If anything still feels unclear after that, we'd much rather explain it properly than have you guessing, and we try to make reaching a real person as quick and easy as possible. Our support team is here whenever you'd like a hand.

First, GovAuctions, BidKing, and DealDash show the same items, the same auctions, and the same bidders. They are the same platform presented under three different names. I want people to know that when reading reviews or deciding where to spend their money. Please understand how much this can cost before you start bidding. The auction price is not the full price you pay. Every bid costs money, and you can spend more than an item is worth without winning anything. I placed more than 10,000 bids on an iPad worth roughly $700. I paid at least 11 cents per bid, so I spent at least $1,100 and still lost. Why did I keep going? I was told that if I won, I would get half of what I had spent back. Once I had already spent so much, winning felt like the only way to recover some of it. When I had raised concerns about the platform before, I was also given a tip to bid on only one item at a time. I followed that advice with this iPad. Instead of spreading out my bids, I put everything into one auction and walked away with nothing. The auction went on for about two days, with the countdown resetting to around nine seconds whenever someone bid. The platform promotes “no last minute steals,” but bidders who had placed a bid before the cutoff appeared able to return near the end. That was not what I expected from that claim. I cannot verify whether bots are involved. I can document my bid purchases, the auction, and my bidding history with screenshots. My experience was that the bidding costs kept adding up while the possibility of getting some money back made it harder to walk away. Please look beyond the displayed auction price and consider what you could lose before placing a bid.

Thank you for writing this out in such detail. You've raised several specific points, from the timer resetting and the late-bid claim through to the advice you were given and the overall cost of the bids placed, and each of those warrants a proper look rather than a general response. Our FAQ and tutorials cover how general bidding, points, and auction extensions work, but given the scale of what you've described, we'd rather review your account history with you directly. We try to make reaching a real person as quick and easy as possible, so please get in touch with our support team and they'll go through everything step by step, including anything you'd like clarified about how our auctions are run. Again, thanks for sharing.

Yes another scam website. First off. It has nothing to do with the government. It's just like when them penny options where you gotta buy a bunch of pennies or whatever, and you can bid one penny at a time, you end up pin way more than what the advertisement says, trust me, go away, do not use this website. Good morning, you total scam. Yes , it's real , but it's a real piece of s*** scam

We appreciate you sharing your concerns, and we're sorry the format wasn't what you expected. While we feature government surplus items, we're a private company on a mission to make that surplus accessible, and we state that openly during signup. Our FAQ and tutorials cover how points and bidding work, and first purchases are fully covered by our money-back guarantee, so please get in touch with our support team if you'd like a hand.

Not sure just how these actions work
Response from GovAuctionsOct 9, 2026
Thanks for being upfront about that. The format does take a little getting used to, so we'd suggest having a look at our FAQ or the onboarding tutorial, which break down how points and bidding work. Our support team is available around the clock too, and genuinely happy to walk you through it.
