We had a horrible experience with this service and would strongly recommend Not to use it. We had selected the company because of its outstanding ratings and because it offered "urgent" services. We needed a one-day turn-around, which is what the company offers for an extra fee (which we paid!). Alas, the transcript arrived with a 27-hour delay! So the total turn-around was not as ordered 24 hours, but a good 51 hours, which really jinxed our deadline. We never received an official apology for that, but a routine email merely informing us of "delays" in the work process. More than that, the transcription we finally received was of very low quality. There were so many semantic mistakes (e.g. "white gaze" was transcribed as "why gays", "insidiously" as "in cities”, “alerted” as “allured”) and the script was cluttered with alleged “unintelligible-s" (which proved to be perfectly legible), that we basically had to redo half the transcript ourselves. Last but not least, I attempted to post my review on their “Feedback” webpage to alert other clients to this issue — it was never posted! Go.transcript seems to actively block negative reviews. One begins to wonder whether the 1000 positive reviews posted on their site are for real.

I wish I had seen the CUSTOMER reviews on here before giving clear recordings to be transcribed. ( Why are there so many exaggerated 5 star employee reviews ? Aren't there other sites for workers to praise or more likely, moan about their employers ? ) My files were late, totally inaccurate and totally useless. I got another firm to do the work and those files were very well produced, on time & with only very minor mistakes in spelling acronyms for other departments in our company, and that were mentioned by speakers at the meetings. I will never use this firm again and I have warned friends and colleagues about the unacceptable standards and attitudes shown by this organisation. You don't save money with this firm, you lose money and waste precious time that can never be recovered.

The transcipt quality is unreliable. All recordings were clear and clean. I had 2 dozen interviews transcribed. 20% were fine with only a few corrections; 60% had substantial errors and 20% had to be completely redone by myself because the transcripts were completely incoherent and reflected the exact opposite of what the conversation was about. I would not use them again.

After finally getting a human on the phone to answer my questions about transcription and translation, and was assured that they use humans to translate, I submitted five 30 min interviews to GoTranscript for transcription and translation from Spanish to English. The quality was terrible. The translation was from a non-native English speaker, and not usable for research purposes. My assistant and I went back and forth with GoTranscript over revising the translation with no improvement. I was never able to get anyone on the phone, and after MUCH trouble, they agreed to refund less than a third of what I paid. Extremely disappointing.

Think very carefully about using this company. After clearly asking for, "Could I please have a non-binding quote for the attached documents to be translated into Dutch and Apostilled? The marriage certificate is in German, and the two birth certificates are in English." We were given a translation only, with no apostilled documents. They have taken the money for a translation which is of no use to us. They will not refund the money paid as they said they have done what they said. They said that by omission (not saying that they could do an apostilled document) that they have done what they were required to do. This is dishonest. As you can see from the request in quotations, it was clear what was required. If they could not do an apostilled translation, they could have said, "unfortunately we cannot do it apostilled". But they didn't. This clearly is a company not to be trusted if this is representative of their service actions. I would think very carefully about either having a translation from them or working for them if this is there normal operations.

Don't use! Not useless you want a useless translation in the wrong language!

Initially I loved GoTranscript, but after they messed up a transcription, flip-flopped on the reason why, and refused to refund (or even credit $15). I won't be using them anymore, which is a shame given I was uploading at least 2 videos a week on my account and multiple through client accounts.

Absolutely awful experience. The transcripts were late and of extremely poor quality (lots of missing text and errors). The after service support was disappointing (to say the least). The communication was poor and the recompense offered was derisory. They offered a small refund (in dollars) or a slightly larger credit for further work. I currently have a research assistant reworking the transcripts and my University is considering taking legal action.
