GotoflyerReviews of gotoflyer.com

I booked a flight for 211$$ and they called me saying the seat were over booked and proceeded to tell me there were only seat for 542$ doubled the price and felt pressured to but the more expensive once I tried canceling they said they would keep my 211$$ dollars so in the end I was pressured to purchase the other ticket.it was an hour difference between booking for 211$$ then switched it all on me for double. Pls be careful and don’t book for the cheaper price

GOTOFLYER.COM is a SCAM. Beware. Read the BBB for more detailed reviews. They take money and then call from an indian number to try to upsell the flight and let you know that the flight booked isnt available. They take the money and never refund you once you deny the upcharge. 1-877-250-1705 is the call number. They email you with a generic spam email that just states the booking is canceled. Complete scam and they are reviewing their own website to make it look legit. BEWARE!

I booked a round-trip flight from Portland Me. to Richmond Va. for a price of $143.90 I received an email the next day saying there was an update on my flight. I tried calling on the 24/7 toll free number to inquire on the change and was on hold for 3.5hrs I eventually gave up and called back the next day where after 3 hours and 45 minutes on hold someone answered. The woman and I that I spoke with had communication issues, but I understood that now they were going to charge me a total of $362. I asked to cancel my flight and refund me my money. I was told she couldn't do that and that someone would call me back. It was two days later when I got a call. I spoke with a man I once again had trouble understanding, again I asked to cancel my flight and refund my money, he said he could do that but there would be a $68.72 cancellation fee. I feel this was a bait and switch scam and will be contacting the BBB. I did finally get a flight through Expedia for $222

On January 2nd I received a call telling me my brother died. I needed to travel up north quickly and checked out airline prices. They were fairly high and they came upon Gotoflyer. They quoted me a price of $243 for a round trip which was decent all things considered. However 25 minutes later I get a call telling me that that seat is not available however they can hook me up with a seat on the same flight for $690. I was very upset at this and felt this was a scam/ come on,especially the way they denied they were doing it. He told me how this is a very unusual experience however after checking some other reviews I found out that this it happened on December 7th the 26th and another review said 7 days ago. This IS NOT an unusual occurrence ,they seem to be taken advantage of people who are in either a crisis or stuck in holiday travel .It is highly unethical and outright dishonest. However I felt I was boxed in because I needed to get up there and while debating and saying okay I could do the $690,reluctantlyhey place me on hold to approve the transaction. During this time I quickly search another website and found Expedia offering the exact same flight same package for $150 less. Also showing that there was still available seats so I went and booked with expedia. Upon reconnecting with Gotoflyer ,I told them this told him I was not interested in any of their services and to cancel all transactions. They had the audacity to charge me $66 for canceling my first reservation which they in fact they were the ones who canceled it and then on top of that they charge me another $66 for canceling the second reservation that was never confirmed. I have just informed them again now that if this cancellation is not revoked I will be contacting the better Business bureau. I do not know how they received any reviews above a 1 and would have to wonder if they're bogus like their pricing is. Let the buyer beware.

Absolute scam. Do not use this service. Bait and switch and won’t refund and then tries to sell same tickets at twice the price.

I made an online reservation to travel from Salt Lake City to Lima Peru for the price of 588 and when I called they said there were two seats available and they would send me the confirmation tickets in an hour and then they called me telling me that there were no more in that promotion and that it had gone up a little more expensive and I told them to cancel it but they told me that I would pay a fee and I told them that I would not pay and if I do not pay the cost of 588 of the same reservation will be charged and in the end they ended up charging me 160 for the cancellation they are scammers if they do not have more tickets at that price they should not put them on their page

Beware of gotoflyer.com! Bait-and-Switch Tactics! I recently attempted to book a flight from Boston to New York through gotoflyer.com and had an incredibly frustrating experience. After booking at what seemed like a reasonable fare, I received a notification that the booking couldn't be completed and I had to call them. I called them and they shared that the price I booked at was no longer available and there was a new price that had increased significantly. When I explained that I wasn't willing to pay the inflated price, they informed me that I would be subject to a cancellation fee. Such a tactic felt crazy and possibly illegal, as they were the ones who failed to honor the initial price. Despite my efforts to reason with them and request to speak with a manager, they remained inflexible. Their insistence on charging me a cancellation fee for their own error felt like a blatant attempt to take advantage of customers. I ultimately threatened them with contacting the Better Business Bureau and writing a review Trustpilot. After this, they suddenly said there was no problem and I would not have to pay their blatantly wrong cancelation fee. Based on my experience, I strongly advise against using gotoflyer.com. Their deceptive pricing practices and abusive customer service make them an unreliable and untrustworthy option for booking travel.
