Dear goLancers,
We've always been the good guys of the freelance industry who treated win-win solutions as their top priority. We embrace and welcome any kind of constructive criticism that can help us improve the quality of our services.
However, in this particular case, you should hear the other side of this review's story, its motivations and intentions.
We found ourselves in the middle of financial disputes between the reviewer and his ex-wife. The reviewer tried to manipulate our system and by doing so, he clearly violated our Terms of Service. We made attempts to return the funds via ACH, only to be later notified that the ACH had been rejected by the bank through a dispute.
We tried to report this review for defamation reasons. Trustpilot team informed us about their new policy on focusing on the "context" rather than the "keywords." The reviewer used the variations of the word "scam" three times in his review that was put back online.
Normally, we would say we're sorry our user had a bad experience and we'd do our very best to try to work it out. At the same time, we can't and won't allow to be extorted, defrauded or manipulated in any way and circumstances.
We will continue to protect the interests of our clients and freelancers by ensuring the safety and transparency of our platform.
Your trustworthy goLance Team

They are charging FEES and not telling…
They are charging FEES and not telling you about it! It happens at the end when you try to withdraw your money, and then find out golance wants money for you to take your own money out.
Their advertising claims they are about reducing fees, but they just tack it on the freelancer's end.
Don't use this company!
Response from goLanceApr 10, 2020
GoLance charges the lowest flat freelance service fee in the industry - 7.95%. There are no costs to clients, including payment processing fees.
Your review contradicts itself. First, you say that we "are charging FEES and not telling you about it," and then you say that we "advertising claims they are about reducing fees." Respectfully, but this doesn't make any sense.
It's really difficult to understand how you possibly got the impression that there are no fees at all for freelancers. GoLance is absolutely free for clients, but freelancers have to pay a flat service fee that has been reduced more than once.

Terrible app, worse service
I'm forced to use this platform by my employer but I definitely wouldn't use it if I didn't have to.
Their time app is extremely unstable. It has to be reinstalled or the appdata cleared at least once a week, sometimes daily. I was willing to put up with this until recently when I was lied to and treated like garbage after 3 YEARS and tens of thousands of dollars on the platform.
Their support when I initially started using them 3 years ago was excellent. Now it is HORRIBLE. Truly awful. 15 days to answer a simple question even though I received several notifications that people had merged and viewed my tickets from zendesk. meaning they were actively ignoring me. False information shared and no effort to even apologize for it either. Thinking about taking legal action as they owe me over $1600 in back fees.
Edit following the response 5 years after posting:
Our friend Nick here sent me a slimy email claiming it’s not their fault because they have terrible data retention (likely breaching some laws) and he’s new so nothing he can do. Then tried to blame me for their mistakes.
Thanks GoLance, proving yet again that you guys are unprofessional scammers. I had an option to recommend them to a large bpo recently but made sure to tell the exec who asked that using GoLance would be a major mistake.

There are better platforms for freelancers
It's difficult to get hired in this platform. Too many processes with only a few jobs available.
Response from goLanceFeb 3, 2020
Robert,
It's not easy working as a freelancer. That's a fact. Regarding the available jobs, it's very likely that there aren't too many projects in your field of expertise and interest. However, we're the fastest growing platform in the industry. Things are changing quickly to the advantage and benefit of our clients and freelancers.
Our word of advice and honest wish would be for you to stick around.

They're very bad don't work with them
There very bad for freelancers don't fall in love for a low fee, I think they're scammers or maybe just bad in support don't know, I just completed a project and after funds clearance I try to withdraw my money and then they start asking for verification and I submitted my decuments then they start asking for another form identification, I only have national I'd card, where would I get another? And now its been almost 4 days still they're making acuses, And my payment is frozen, and another funny part is they're asking me for my client account verification 🤪🤪 what should I do now?
Response from goLanceJan 29, 2020
Ilyas,
Security has always been our top priority. All users are required to go through our verification process. Our security procedures apply to both clients and freelancers. It is in your best interest to comply.
We understand how you may feel about it, but we can't stress enough how important these measures are to ensure the top level of security for our users. Thank you for your understanding and willingness to consider writing a new review that reflects our efforts in this matter appropriately.

I have to rate glance a 0 if I could
I have to rate glance a 0 if I could, because they wont respond back when you need them too, and they wont pay like me like they said I would get paid, and they wont give notification why they stopped paying, but yet they continue to use my Facebook account to run their ads? I think that's a cause of a lawsuit!!!! Now please pay me or, I'm going to cast you on news, and have your website Shut Down...with all respect!!
Response from goLanceAug 28, 2019
Hi Victoria, our company is the freelance/payment platform that your client used to pay you for service. We don't see a contract in our system that wasn't fulfilled. We cannot make our clients continue to work with freelancers or guarantee payment to you without a contact though our system. We hope you reconsider your 1 start review. We understand you have an issue with your client but bad reviews really hurt us and we are not in a position to mitigate between you and your client.
