I give this company 1 star simply for the fact that they completely canceled my booking as I was traveling to pickup the van. There was no communication to me about the actual problem and I only caught it as I happened to review my credit card charges and saw the refunded amounts. I had to scramble to rebook and even had issues with getting the complete dates. They could not rebook for me which was really disappointing since they canceled it. The problem lies in that their is verification system companies they use, could not verify me completely and then we had a rush a few days before the trip to redo some id verification. They were really communicative via email during the whole rebooking and making sure things were complete, but when I tried calling because I couldn’t get the last day, I was not able to contact anyone. The email response also went silent once I made the purchase. I had issues with the van, which I had to take time and money away from my planned trip to get the van fixed and I am still in negotiations, as I have not been properly compensated fully just to cover the costs of the repairs.

I am a van owner and have rented out my vans through sll the peer to peer groups and have, essentially, found them to provide the services to me they promised. Not true with GoCamp. They have NO host website and rely on sendiong out emails. So there is no paper trail. I had to cancel a rental today because GoCamp closes its doors at 5PM. I could not locate any of the paerwork about what was the insurance coverage, the rate, or the renter. GoCamp, when they called at 8AM this morning kept saying they were a different kind of company and provided all sorts of other benefits but I was still not able to upload prerental pictures of the van on their departure form nor could I modify any of the myriad errors in their description of my van. To say the least,especially since GoCamp charges the same fees as the other companies, I was glad to pull my van from their listings.

We absolutely loved our rental and the people who owned the van. However, the GoCamp company has strung us along now for over 3 weeks about our deposit. Nobody contacted us about our options to cover a cracked windshield like they said they would and it seems like they are thinking they can charge us the whole $2,500 deductible for their “insurance” that we paid extra for without ever talking to us.

I booked a van for my week long trip in Colorado. When I arrived to the location given the vendor told me “sorry the vans broken” and essentially told me to leave. This vendor was a company with tons of vans in the parking lot. Apparently the van had been broken for at least 24 hours before my arrival. It is amazing to me no one at gocamp did anything to try and fix this before I arrived. Instead I had to purchase a hotel because I had no where else to go that day and delayed my trip a whole day. GoCamp eventually found me a new van in the area but the van was a massive downgrade (no bathroom or shower) which meant I had to spend a ton of money on campgrounds to shower and use the bathroom. I CANNOT believe GoCamp has not reached out to reimburse me a portion of what I paid. I will warn everyone I know in the outdoor community not to use GoCamp.
