I rented a home from Goal Properties from May of 2019 to October 2020. I gave a $900 nonrefundable pet deposit for 3 pets to live with me. I also had to pay a $1695 refundable deposit. When I moved in, I completed a walk through with the property manager, pointing out all of the things wrong with the home. Upon moving out, there was an extensive checklist of things that needed to be done to receive the deposit back. I completed everything other than painting touch up spots. I emailed the property manager and asked the specific color of the paint and was told I didn't need to paint it if they were just small spots, to use a magic eraser and normal wear and tear was expected. I hired a carpet cleaning company to clean the carpets, scrubbed the base boards throughout the house, replaced the furnace filters before I locked the house up, mowed the grass and had the house cleaned from top to bottom. I had 5 people over to help make sure it was in pristine condition before leaving. I have pictures of before and after. When I moved out I received a list of deductions from the deposit, that included air filters (which I replaced the day I left), yard work (which I mowed 5 days before I left), a $254 cleaning fee (along with pictures of the inside of the oven, which I didn't use because I had an air fryer and behind the fridge, which I didn't pull out before or upon leaving). There were charges for light bulbs that were burnt out (the one under the microwave never worked, the one in the bathroom closet had a broken ballast, as I replaced the lamp 2 times and it still didnt worked). There was a $300 fee for painting, which I offered to paint before I left but was told touch ups were going to be handled. This company appears to be trying to scam people and is used to tenants not questioning their practices. There is normal wear and tear of a property after 17 months and tenants shouldn't lose the majority of their deposit because of it. I was charged for blinds, were 2 or 3 slats were bent from my cat rubbing against them. Shouldn't the nonrefundable pet deposit cover that? I'm appalled and disappointed in my experience renting from Goal Properties and their attempt at making money from expectedly gullible renters. I have contacted an attorney and was told to request the entire refund back via Small Claims Court. If this isn't resolved via BBB, that is my next step. I'm not a serial renter and just needed a place to stay while I prepared to purchase my next home, which I have done. It's sad to see how they try to take advantage of people who are already paying too much to rent their properties and probably aren't in a position to fight back and take them court. I enjoyed my time at the house and really loved the neighborhood, but don't appreciate the scam they are trying to run with fake charges and not comparing move out to move in lists. The ceiling in the kitchen was leaking from the pipes and maintenance was out 4 times to fix it. I was without the master bathroom for 4 weeks while they figured out the cause of the leak. Was I reimbursed for that? Nope. The ice maker was repaired twice and still didn't work. Did they reimburse me for that? No. Some hiccups are to be expected, but the move out charges are ludicrous and I plan on sharing their conniving practices with my 21,000 followers on LinkedIn, along with every other social media platform so others don't get ripped off. This was my first time renting from a property management company and will thankfully be my last. I know COVID has slowed business down, but how dare they make their money from adding up false charges to keep people's deposit. I'm thankful I have before and after pictures and witnesses to collaborate my account of this move.

THEY WILL SCAM YOU OF YOUR SECURITY DEPOSIT! OTHERS ON BBB, Yelp and Facebook! They will NOT call us back and they said they will not refund bc we don't have any documentation! How do you get proof once you move out and you go on their word making sure they document and take pictures on the things wrong with house at move in. Move out instructions says if any areas that need cleaned or touched up you need to clean and find the closest color paint as possible. We was asked to fill/paint any areas that needed like scuff or nail and we did. So they ended up saying the color didn't match exactly so they had to paint the whole house, charged us over $1000 to do this. They said garage door looked like it was broke into and it was like this at move in we had to fix it with screws so it would break anymore. There was so many issues at move in they said sorry we're not fixing. SO WHAT DO YOU DO IF YOU DIDNT GET PICTURES OF EVERY WALL EVERY DOOR? YOU LOSE OUT ON YOUR SECURITY DEPOSIT. Not only that we moved out 2 days early to clean and pay $250 to professional steam vac AS REQUESTED AT MOVE OUT. They charged us 2 extra days for rent with no explanation. They charged us a $150 cleaning fee AFTER I SPENT 2 DAYS CLEANING IT. What else? The plumbing was horrible from the day of Move-in they send carpenters 4 times never fixed it. Have to plunge every time you #2 and it overflows on ground. Also problems with bugs was soooo bad they said we have to pay for professional people come out to spray. Let me tell you save yourself and read all the comments on this company and DONT RENT FROM THEM!

Rental company is just here to take your money. Do not rent from them. You've been warned.
