I used proctorU to take my TOEFL test and the experience was unpleasant. First, when I got connected with my proctor, I couldn't catch what she was saying as she was speaking from a very loud place, which stressed me out right at the beginning. Then, during the first part of the test, the proctor took control over my screen to "fix" something, as my time was running! No one told me why they were doing it or how long it would take, no one answered my questions about what was going on. That incident completely threw me off track and harmed my score. On top of that, when I asked for permission to leave the room during my break, no one answered, and when they finally did- it was too late. I do not recommend.

They switched proctors on me in the middle of my test, did a room and desk inspection again, and did not stop the clock when all of this was happening. I am not happy with ProctorU at all. I will never go with them again.

Awful. Everything about this service is terrible.

They only work with a Mac computer and are not willing to try and help you with getting things set up. The customer service or help is no help at all. They are rude and disrespectful to the student trying to take the test. I would never recommend them to anyone ever and have tried to tell my college to stop using them as they claim they will work with other computers, but I personally tried 3 and the only one it worked with was the Macbook.

Incredibly invasive and rude. They demand you hand over control of YOUR computer and will not tell you what they are accessing. They use a (questionably legal) proxy system so that they can access you and use your camera and microphone to monitor you. On top of that, they access your computer, and despite asking permission (the only good thing they did) they do not tell you what they are accessing. I will be lodging a formal complaint with the business I am applying to, and recommending they drop any service or contract with this horrible "company".

First off of all things, the proctor asked that I "use a mirror to show my surroundings" when I was on a iMac. Then he managed to booger around in my system and make a bunch of system changes that makes my normal software that I use for work not work correctly. Then there was a folder of family photos open that I know I haven't opened in at least a year open. Then he managed to crash my exam. I was reading a lengthy advanced math problem out to myself as I was writing it to ensure that I wasn't missing something and this guy shut my test down to "remind me not to speak". In what universe is this normal? In what universe do I have to give access to my system files of my home PC (and yes when they are continuously trying to open a website they hover over your history in Chrome). This was an absolutely dumpsterfire of a shitshow and I personally believe (and I passed exam mind you). That this software and the merry band of smooth brains who get remote access to your home computer is worth it. Shame on colleges and this service.

DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE EVER. My Financial information had been pulled up by the proctor while I was taking my exam. I noticed my bank statement was up on My desktop after logging out of the application. The proctor was closing the file as I was taking my exam. I reported this to ProctorU . They said for me to email my concern , which I did. I received an emailed back confirming that the proctor opened it in error. I asked if someone could call me. They Emailed me back stating that they could contact me via phone. I called them on the phone and asked for a manager the representative said you need to email them I informed the representative that I emailed several times requesting a phone call. I still have been unable to get anyone to discuss this with me. I had to call my bank and the credit union as a result.

I've been trying to start the session for 5 hours non-stop, ProctorU kept having issues. Now I have missed my exam and lost my ProctorU and Uni fee. I wish I read the reviews before I started with them. Very bad experience, NEVER AGAIN.
