My GIVE trip exceeded all expectations I had going into it. Being so immersed in the culture and getting to know so many locals was something I’d never get to do traveling by myself. This trip was not only eye opening but perspective changing. Besides how amazing the trip itself was, I made lifelong friendships with other volunteers. In just two weeks we really became a family and I’m so grateful for the people who were brave and open enough to take a chance on GIVE. I would recommend everyone go on a GIVE trip because you will leave feeling like you made a difference and motivated to bring positive changes home with you. There are truly no negatives to these trips.

GIVE made this experience so stress free and walked me through everything from the time I submitted my application to when I arrived back at home! As soon as I landed in Zanzibar I was welcomed with open arms and felt at home my entire stay. The best part of the trip though is spending time with the locals and learning about their culture! I had absolutely fantastic guides (both local and international) who I felt like I could go to at any time. I 100% recommend traveling with GIVE (especially to Zanzibar) if you’re someone who has a passion for helping other, learning more about the world around them, and traveling sustainably.

Becoming a global citizen and get to know the Hawaiian culture was magical, our advisors teaching us how the community can work together really opened my eyes.

This experience was not only sobering, but something I will carry with me for the rest of my life. It broadened my mindset and I developed deep relationships with amazing people. GIVE does an amazing job and immersing you into the culture of the country and helping you grow individually.

I'm excited to finally share my experience with GIVE Volunteers. I spent 2.5 weeks volunteering with GIVE experiencing meaningful travel that combines sustainable volunteer projects and epic adventures to discover the world and your purpose in it. I traveled to Zanzibar, Tanzania, spending most of my time in Kairo Village. GIVE has been able to accomplish many amazing achievements here, including building critical infrastructure, teaching English, and supporting women’s empowerment projects. Truly helping Kairo's community. In the past, many of the children in Kairo Village couldn’t afford the cost of transportation to the nearest school and therefore weren’t able to receive a formal education. When volunteering in Zanzibar, I was able to become part of the solution. My mornings were spent constructing builds and creating paths at Skuli ya Kairo GIVE (the school GIVE has built in the village). In the afternoons, I volunteered in the classroom teaching the wonderful ladies in the village intermediate English lessons. We learned conjunctions during those two weeks and at the end took a test. My overall experience in Zanzibar and Tanzania was amazing. The people, places, and adventures during this trip have been absolutely life-changing and truly an inspiration to find other ways I can make an impact while discovering the world. Highly recommend doing a trip with GIVE at any of there locations BUT I absolutely loved Zanzibar. My guides were the absolute best and the locals I meet were the nicest and most welcoming.

What separates this trip from any other travel Ive done is the access to true authentic local experiences. Every activity is thoroughly thought through to ensure it was the best possible way to travel consciously and responsibly. One thing I love is how transparent the guides and trip organizers are about everything, they were always open to any and all critiques or challenging questions. Unreal!

Honestly one of the coolest experiences I’ve done. Everything was amazing and the guides do an awesome job of finding new and incredible experiences for you!!
