To start off I wanna say that this trip was an experience that cannot be compared to anything I have ever done. It may sound redundant in these reviews but my trip to Kairo, Stone Town, and the mainland of Tanzania was the best two weeks of my life. I was welcomed with such overwhelming hospitality and kindness by all the locals and guides as well as all the other volunteers that went on the journey with me. All the accommodations provided were so safe and fully taken care of by my extraordinary guides, Sophie, Khamius, and Faith. At the hostels and hotels we stated in there was security which made me feel so secure and also clean rooms and bathrooms. Taking a chance on the trip is something that was hard for me at first especially traveling solo for the first time but it was the greatest decision I have made by far. I learned so much about tanzanian culture, muslim religion, the digital divide, how to vote using my dollar, ecotourism, and so much about myself and how I want to grow following the trip. Not only did we create miraculous change in Kairo but we had so much fun doing it too! So many important life lessons are implemented into the program that push you to be the best version of yourself alongside your new best friends and newly made family. The culture day, adventure day, and safari trip was so unimaginably fun and well planned out too. Therefore, I seriously recommend going on a GIVE trip, especially the one in Tanzania if you want to feel whole-hearted love and growth in your life.

The company was able to effectively provide an efficient and culturally considerate introduction for volunteers to provide their services to and learn from, which enable together opportunity for empowerment that is usually reduced to a pyrrhic siphoning.

My GIVE trip to Tanzania gave me a new perspective on life, cultures, and relationships. Going on a GIVE volunteer trip instead of a vacation allowed me to not only understand Tanzanian culture from a local point of view, but also build strong, close relationships while doing so. I truly did not expect to learn so much throughout my time there. Whether it was a conversation with a local about marriage culture or walking through the slave museum in Stone Town, I felt like I was constantly expanding my knowledge on Tanzania. Even during construction, a break was a great opportunity to ask questions and get first-hand answers. I overall really appreciated how my guides made educating the volunteers such a big focus during the trip. Lastly, being surrounded by likeminded individuals, experienced guides, and welcoming locals made relationships easy to make and goodbyes very hard. I am so glad I pushed myself to go on this trip where I had the chance to help a community and grow in myself.

My GIVE experience was amazing due to all of the guides being some of the coolest and kindest people I’ve ever met. Their influence and positive energy made the experience more impactful than it otherwise would have been. This company’s strengths consist of its organizational skills. The careful day to day planning and resourcefulness when it came to schedule changes made the experience feel so much more smooth. I can wait to go on another adventure with GIVE sometime in the future and see how much it has improved.

GIVE does an incredible job of taking care of their volunteers. From the moment you sign up for a trip, you become part of a family pursuing sustainable change worldwide. Nicaragua was my third trip with GIVE and fourth location. I've traveled to Thailand, Laos, and Hawaii with GIVE, and plan to do more trips in the future! Not only does GIVE give their volunteers the opportunity to work as hard as they play, with important volunteer projects and epic adventures, but they also help volunteers become more knowledgeable about global citizenship, responsible tourism, voting with your dollar, and how to become someone who travels with purpose. I want to thank everyone at GIVE for the programs they've created. I would not be the person I am today without GIVE teaching me so much about the world, the extraordinary people in it, and myself. I am honored to be able to call myself a GIVE volunteer, and I hope volunteers find their way to such an incredible opportunity!

I literally loved everything about this trip: the people, the place, the experiences, and the ease of the whole thing. GIVE staff supported you and was so nice throughout the whole process. They encouraged me that I could do it and would have the time of my life, and they were so right. I got over my fear of traveling that far alone, and they are the reason for it. It was so organized and easy and literally the best experience ever. I loved everything we did and want to go back so bad and reconnect with the land and people.

The guides were so knowledgable and GIVE creates an atmosphere where all can feel welcome and push themselves to be their best.
