Larger sizes BEWARE!!!!!
Larger sizes BEWARE!!!!! UPDATE!!! Tried to add this same review to their website from my order. It will only post if they APPROVE it. LOL. Took a picture because I knew they weren't going to approve it. Sure enough, went back a hour or so later, they removed the review. I figured they didn't want customers to know the truth. Buyer please beware, the dishonesty is unbelievable. I would like to start by sharing an email I received from a representative from this company. "When you provide custom size measurements on an order, the suit is then made based on those measurements. An entirely new pattern must be made to accommodate a custom-size garment such as the one that you ordered. Larger-size garments will not look exactly like the images shown on our website because larger sizes will distort the silhouette. This is true across the board in all clothing. Size small looks different than a size X-large. We do not put a disclaimer on our garments for larger sizes as we believe it is common sense to expect that larger sizes will not look the same on a person's body as smaller sizes do". Below is my initial message... Order# 431097. Received the suit and I am very disappointed in the quality of the jacket. The color is not as vibrant as the picture. The lapels look like PU fabric and it not shiny like in the picture at all. The cut of the jacket is not as the slim fit/silhouette shown, it is very boxy. This suit cost $500 not including the custom. I chose this suit because of the cut and it look like a regular square suit. This is for prom and he is sick! If nothing else the slim fit which is highlighted in your description should have been executed. I can only hope I can convince him to wear it and that it doesn't show up dull in pictures. This is one time, you can't get it back. it really sucks!. Where do I start? saw a very nice quality looking suit, nice color and fit. Paid the custom fee as my definition of custom is that you make the garment to fit the customer. I wouldn't pay for a custom garment if I thought the silhouette of the garment was going to change. I explained that this should be disclosed as well when customer is paying for a custom garment. The email I received in response was offensive and rude, it insinuates she doesn't think I have "common sense". I could go on as there were other responses that were condescending as well but the above is enough in my opinion and didn't want to make the review longer than it already is. Also, the comment "larger sizes will distort the silhouette" is incorrect. A larger size should not change the silhouette, I worked in apparel garment production for many years and have seen many garments made to know that is not entirely true. I was also told that they can't control how the photography lighting shows the garments on their website. I was asked how they could resolve the issue to my satisfaction and I told them they could refund the express shipping fee and the $100 custom fee. They sent me that message above and $52, paid $700. So, a few things for anyone considering ordering a custom suit from Gentleman's Guru... If you are expecting to get the bright colors you see on their website, based on the representative's message, Don't!!! It's the lighting from photography. I would ask for a swatch of the fabric for each part of the garment if you want to be sure of what you are getting before you order. If your suit size is "long", you'll have to pay for custom make. They cater to smaller sizes, don't waste your time paying the extra fee because they admittedly confirmed you will not get what you see on their website.
