Dishonest advertising of services
I paid Geeker about $45 for a quick fix and extra for a “permanent recording.” The tech never turned on screen sharing, so I got audio only. When I asked for the recording I paid for, Geeker offered me $4.99 back and told me to pay another $45 to redo the exact same service. That’s like a photographer leaving the lens cap on and then charging you for another photoshoot. The fix itself worked, but the recording (the part I actually bought this service for) was never delivered. Expect to pay twice if their tech makes a mistake with the added bonus of their customer support taking 4 days to even deliver their news of the unavailable recording but inviting you to hire them again. The original service took 8 minutes. Fixing the fallout has taken 28 emails, incomplete recordings, and zero resolution.

Thank you for your feedback, Rachel. We're sorry for the frustration surrounding the recording. To clarify a few points, the service itself was successfully completed, and the issue you contacted us about was resolved. Our system encourages customers to share their screen, but some prefer not to for privacy reasons. During your session, screen sharing was not enabled, so the recording could only capture what was visible to the technician. Two years after the original session, you purchased the recording expecting it to include your screen. We therefore refunded you for it. We also want to clarify that you were not charged twice for the same service. Your recent session involved a new service request, which we resolved as well. We also provided you with a written step-by-step tutorial to help you repeat the process yourself in the future. For clarity, the total cost of the recent session, including the tutorial, was $31.75. While we understand you were unhappy about the recording, we do not believe the review accurately reflects our customer service efforts. We communicated with you by phone, reviewed the issue, refunded the recording fee, provided documentation, and resolved your issue. We understand why you were disappointed that the recording did not contain what you expected, and we're sorry the experience left you frustrated.
