Travelled to Leeds last night to celebrate a 19th birthday for one child and GCSE results for another. This was on the booking form and confirmed when we were seated. Firstly my husbands steak came out medium well when he asked for medium rare. Mentioned it on the check back so his was taken away to recook. We were told it would take 10 minutes, by the time his was redone we had all finished our food and it still wasn’t cooked correctly. I asked for medium and mine looked far more rare than his on both occasions yet they managed to get the other two steaks correct. Manager came over and said he would apply a discount to the steak. When the bill came my husbands steak only had 50% off and they had automatically applied a tip which was greater than the discount. When a guest is having to eat their meal completely after everyone else has finished then this meal should be free. In addition they brought out a complimentary brownie for the birthday boy but completely ignored the other child who was celebrating her GCSE results. Overall really disappointed, you expect this level of steak house to be able to cook steak as is should be and more en pointe than when you cook it yourself at home.

Steaks mediocre at best. Poor cuts of meat. My guest said the mushrooms were the tastiest thing on the table. Flat iron chicken at Nandos is much beter. Gaucho used to be the steak place. No more Starters were okay but nothing special. Waiting staff pleasant but woefully overworked so service ends up being poor. Booked a table. Was NOT asked for a credit card then told booking cancelled when we got there. Ridiculous. Management were not particularly interested

An almost empty restaurant by 8pm. 3 tables out fo 30+ still occupied. I wonder why? The supposed Minestrone contained no tomatoes of any description, no discernible pasta and was a watery green inedible mess. The Chateau Briand was acceptable but not cooked as requested. House water is £5.50 a bottle and the wines are expensive. We will not be going back to Gaucho and I fear for the company’s future.

The staff at the entrance were really friendly but the waitress was so rude. The food was excellent but because of attitude of waitress it ruined the day for me and my partner.

Went to Gauch recently with my family to celebrate my Son's birthday. For a premium restaurant where you are paying c.£350 for 4 people you expect a premium service so while the below are all minor points there were too many minor points. - Ordered a bottle of Red. It came but it was a different year to that advertised - Two of the steaks were over-done, one was meant to be medium rare and was closer to medium well - Ordered a chocolate brownie for my son but he got a cheesecake. When we questioned it the waitress simply said 'Well you are getting it on the house for his birthday' and walked off Will find it very hard to justify going to a gaucho again

The food was OK at the Birmingham branch. But my local steak restaurant in rural Worcestershire is better. But what I found truly appalling is the mark up on wine. A good bottle - costing £21 in the shops, is now sold at over £90 here. Now I know that it's tough running a business. I run one myself. But these mark-ups are outrageous. The cheapest wines on offer are expensive and of very poor quality. It really doesn't have to be like this. I did write to express my dissatisfaction afterwards and sadly got a really pathetic reply. I won't be returning. They are probably making a £65 margin on just serving a single bottle of wine. Not for me thanks.
