Hello, We rented a car from this company. However, while driving on the highway, the license plate of the rented car fell off and was lost for no apparent reason. I called the company and filed the necessary complaint. An 84-euro deposit was collected when we rented the car. Although we did not accept liability for the damage—since it was in no way our fault—not only was the deposit not refunded, but we were also charged 77 euros (for damage and HGS tolls). On what grounds is this damage being charged to us, and why hasn’t the 84-euro deposit been refunded to us yet? We have filed all our complaints with every relevant authority. I am demanding a refund of our money. Once again, we’ve realized what consequences come from supporting and using local products.

They didn't refund my deposit. They kept telling me that they tried to refund my deposit but there are technical glitch. They never gave me any detail. They knew I am a tourist and and I returned home. If you are a tourist probably it will happen to you if you hire a car from them.

Ich möchte andere Kunden ausdrücklich vor dieser Garenta-Filiale in Istanbul Yenibosna / Airport AVM warnen. Ich hatte über DiscoverCars ein Fahrzeug zur Abholung in genau dieser Filiale gebucht. Als ich dort ankam, wurde ich zunächst längere Zeit warten gelassen. Mein Reisepass und meine Unterlagen waren beim Personal. Trotzdem wurde mir nicht gesagt, dass angeblich ein Dokument fehlt oder dass es ein Problem mit dem Einreisestempel gibt. Stattdessen wurde mir gesagt, dass ich mit einem deutschen Reisepass in dieser Stadtfiliale kein Auto mieten könne und dass ich dafür zum Flughafen Istanbul fahren müsse. Mir wurde außerdem gesagt, dass ich dort dieselbe Reservierung nutzen könne. Ich bin daraufhin auf eigene Kosten mit dem Taxi zum Flughafen Istanbul gefahren. Dort wurde mir von Garenta erklärt, dass diese Information nicht korrekt war und dass das ursprünglich gebuchte Fahrzeug nur in der Yenibosna-Filiale verfügbar gewesen wäre. Am Ende musste ich am Flughafen eine neue und deutlich teurere Buchung abschließen. Später wurde gegenüber DiscoverCars behauptet, das Problem sei ein fehlender oder nicht sichtbarer Einreisestempel gewesen. Das stimmt aus meiner Sicht nicht. Mein Pass hatte einen gültigen türkischen Einreisestempel, und der Pass lag dem Personal in der Filiale vor. Wenn das wirklich das Problem gewesen wäre, hätte man es mir direkt vor Ort sagen müssen. Für mich war das eine sehr unprofessionelle und stressige Erfahrung mit erheblichen Mehrkosten. Ich kann diese Filiale leider überhaupt nicht empfehlen. Kunden sollten sehr vorsichtig sein und sich jede Ablehnung oder Aussage schriftlich bestätigen lassen.

I rented a car from the Garenta branch at Tepe Nautilus (Kadıköy, Istanbul) and purchased their highest tier "Süper Maksimum Güvence Plus" (Super Maximum Guarantee Plus) full insurance package to have peace of mind. Instead, it turned into an absolute nightmare. While driving under completely normal conditions, the car's gearbox suddenly locked up and failed. This was clearly a mechanical failure of a worn-out vehicle, which put my family's safety at serious risk. I immediately contacted their WhatsApp support, followed their exact instructions, and handed the car over to their designated tow truck. They promised a replacement car and one free day to compensate for the lost time, but they failed to deliver on both promises. The worst part? Without waiting for any independent mechanical inspection, without providing an expert report, without sending a final invoice, and without my consent, Garenta illegally charged approximately 32,000 TL ($919 CAD) directly to my Canadian credit card. They arbitrarily blamed it on "user error" to bypass the premium insurance I had already paid for. This is a predatory practice targeting international tourists who use foreign credit cards. I have already initiated a formal legal process through the Turkish Government's Consumer Arbitration Committee (TÜBİS File No: 2026/0555.2183) to recover my stolen funds. Tourists beware: Your credit card is not safe with Garenta, even if you buy their full insurance. Avoid this company at all costs!

Awful disastrous experience!!! They have scammed us almost for 1000 USD!!! They gave us a shitty used and damaged car and in 2 days it stopped in the middle of nowhere! Caused us lots of problems and they towed us and charged our credit cards 1000 USD claiming that we have to pay for the tow service and fixing their shitty old broken car!!!! Without any documentation and authorization! They are just scammer ! We are still following them legally!Do not rent a car from them unless you want your vacation to be ruined and your money to be stolen!!

Absolute Abzocke in Edremit – Finger weg! Ich miete seit über 15 Jahren regelmäßig Autos im Urlaub, aber so etwas Unverschämtes habe ich noch nie erlebt. Vor Ort in Edremit wurde mir das bereits gebuchte Auto verweigert. Der Grund: Die Mitarbeiter verlangten plötzlich eine völlig absurde Kaution von 15.000 € auf meiner Kreditkarte! Meinem Schwager, der zum selben Zeitpunkt unabhängig von mir ein Fahrzeug gebucht hatte, ist exakt dasselbe passiert. Das ist kein Zufall, sondern ganz offensichtlich eine miese Masche. Hier werden bewusst unhaltbare Forderungen gestellt, um die Kunden zur Stornierung zu zwingen. Ich bin mir sicher, dass die Fahrzeuge stattdessen einfach spontan zu einem viel höheren Preis an andere Personen weitervermietet wurden. Ein Mietvertrag kam somit durch das Verschulden der Autovermietung nicht zustande. Da der Vertrag von Ihrer Seite nicht eingehalten wurde, fordere ich hiermit meine geleistete Anzahlung vollumfänglich zurück! Ich werde nie wieder einen Fuß in diese Autovermietung setzen und kann nur jedem dringend davon abraten, hier zu buchen. Absolute Warnung!

My experience with Garenta was terrible, with problems from beginning to end. When we arrived at Antalya Airport, the office was closed, and I had to find a way to contact someone to pick us up. After a long wait, they eventually came using the same rental car I was supposed to receive, already consuming the fuel I would later pay for. After providing my credit card details for the payment, my card was compromised, and I subsequently received a scam call related to it. To make matters worse, I have been struggling since June to get my refund. Emails go unanswered, WhatsApp messages are ignored, and there has been no proper support or resolution. With COP31 bringing many visitors to Antalya, I hope others can avoid going through the same experience. Based on what happened to me, I strongly recommend staying away from this rental company.

First, the staff and the car was OK. I rented a car for 13 days. But on the first day the car needed AdBlue. And that is not my cost. Garenta could not help me for 4 days and we could not reach the assistance phone. So, I bought AdBlue on a petrol station. I bought 5L. Unfortunatelly, there was no 5L, but only 10L. So, I had to pay more. And now I had two receipts. At the end of the rental, Garenta would like to pay only one of the receipts, because the second one does not contain the word "AdBlue". I would not have had to buy anything If Garenta had checked the AdBlue level before my rental. After this Garenta wrote me it is absolutely normal to fill up AdBlue after 3000km drive, however I sent them my first e-mail on the second day of the rental. So, it is impossible to drive 3000km within one day. Another thing, the windscreen washer tank was filled with simple water which did not clean the windscreen. So, I had to clean it manually on several petrol stations. So, Garenta looks like great, until you have any problem...
