Products Safety Concerned
To whom it May Concerns, On 08/26/2026 @ 3:19 PM, I received an email response from Frigidaire Customer Service regarding the email I previously sent to your Product Safety Team. In that email, I was asked to call the number provided so that we could discuss the safety concerns involving your upright freezers. In my original message, I detailed the problems I encountered and included photographs showing the condition that nearly caused a catastrophic incident, which could have resulted in severe or serious injury. While speaking by phone with a Frigidaire representative, she attempted to assist me in addressing these safety concerns. Unfortunately, the call was disconnected before we were able to complete the conversation. I called back and reached another representative. I explained that I was calling to continue the prior conversation with the earlier representative, who had been helpful and was working with me toward an amicable resolution without further escalation. However, after spending approximately 15 minutes explaining the situation, I was surprised to learn that the second representative did not appear to have access to the prior conversation record, my email, or the photographs and information that the first representative had been reviewing on her computer screen. Please contact me as soon as possible so that we can resolve this matter promptly. I am seeking a clear response and an amicable solution regarding the safety concerns I have raised. I will include all prior email communications between both parties for your records. Thank you for your attention to this serious matter. -------------------------------------------------------------- Below is a copied of my communication with Frigidaire about my safety concerned. Model Number: FFUE2024AWF Serial Number: BB5xxxxxxx Purchase Date: 08/26/2025 Place of Purchase: Home Depot, Online Order Order/Receipt Number: WGxxxxxxx Delivery/Installation Date: 08/30/2025 Today, 08/23/2026, I nearly suffered an injury due to what appears to be an unsafe shelf design. One of the glass shelves buckled under weight and collapsed to the point that it nearly dislodged from the narrow ledge supporting it. If the glass had shattered, fragments could have been ejected outward and caused serious injury. I am sending photos for your records. The shelves were installed by Home Depot’s delivery crew at the time the freezer was delivered. Based on this incident, I am very concerned that the current glass shelf design and the support ledges may not be adequate for normal freezer use. I replaced a 35-year-old Kenmore deep freezer with this Frigidaire model, and I would prefer wire rack shelves like the ones used in my previous freezer. Please advise whether this model can be retrofitted with wire rack shelves. I am also requesting that Frigidaire provide a clear corrective action, such as replacement shelves if compatible, a warranty inspection or service review, and written confirmation regarding whether the current glass shelf design and support ledges are safe for normal freezer use. Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter. I look forward to your response. Sincerely, P G Enclosures: Photos of buckled/collapsed glass shelf
