I want to thank you for the referral to David Huffman at Fresh Start Law Center. He accomplished the goal! Reduction of a felony from 40 years ago when I made some stupid choices as a teen, to a misdemeanor that restored my civil liberties today. I lived most of my life not remembering I was a felon. Probably a good thing. I think knowing that fact may have stopped me from making the great and productive choices through out the rest of my life as I did. When I applied for the firearms license as the trustee to my father's estate to retrieve his firearms and found out I was a felon it brought me into a horrible depression, a dark space, that being a felon does not allow a person certain rights. A space that was so foreign to me. "The Reduction" freed me mentally and practically. Most of the input I received is that it would "follow me me for life". Nothing could be done to change it. Again mentally I felt so crippled. Walla! The granting of the Reduction has set me free! Mentally free! Plus it restored my civil liberties which I will not take for granted. This was the easiest thing I ever did. Was just looking to reduce a felony to misdemeanor and they said it was just as easy to expunge the misdemeanor too. I shopped for a couple days before finding Fresh Start, the price was perfect and after a couple questions and a couple letters from friends and family, they take it from there.
