Free Rate did what I told them not to do. Told them I didn't want my interests of info broadcast "out there". I spent half of several days just waiding thru the names, the mort brokers. They said they would do a "soft pull" of my credit BS. Received a letter from Security National Mortgage stating they pulled the big three, Trans,Exper, and Equifax and did not like my scores etc.. If this dings my credit scores for pulling my credit !!! Don't even know Security National whoever. Free rate is just a leads mill. I'm passed, I'm 71 and tired of these less than upfront offers. Fill Free to contact me about the whole deal. I have secured a HELLOC. Ask be and I'll right a more positive for their outstanding, professional business practice.

I would like to point out to consumers on this review site that the company only provides a source of contact information about connecting you with a lender. Those who complain about the actual lender on a page that is strictly a review of Free Rate Update are acting out of ignorance of this fact. The lender is not a part of the company Free Rate Update; the company only provides access to borrowers for a fee to loan officers. If you can't distinguish between the two,your critical thinking needs to be fixed.

Super great to work with but.... within 1 months, 1 they sold my mortgage back to the same nightmare or a mortgage company we had gotten away from..... I did not spent all the time and money to switch companies just to go back..... not happy at all! Ask questions BEFORE you take the plunge.

Your underwriter tried to get me to have cash and stocks and bonds to cover the complete loan. The loan to value was about 54% of the house value not until I said I would inform fair housing that you were trying to make me have twice the loan value did they stop. They tried to make my wife get a letter from her employer that she was employed even though the employer was listed on the last two tax returns and she is an R.N. and according to the last to loans I did as long as she was employed as and R.N. it did not make any difference how long she had been with her current employer because she was still working as an R.N. doing the same thing nursing. Since we own more than one house buying and refinancing is done on a regular basis by me. Everyone else was great and a real help but they are stuck with the underwriter(s).

Great to get your business but terrible to communicate. Trying to get help via email, phone, and online with no response from anyone. Is this the way you do business? Very irritating.

Although I loved the person I was working with, Abigail Ortisi I did not want to borrow the amount she suggested, it would take more to pay the loan back.
