I was offered 'free' membership by…
I was offered 12-months membership by LinkedIn. It's completely misleading and no different to the free membership as far as I can tell. None of the benefits that are worth anything to me are available without paying hundreds of dollars to upgrade (having been misled already I'm not giving them any money!). Plus, in the UK the benefits are limited anyway and no better than I can get elsewhere as far as I can see. According to FoundersCard AI the LinkedIn Premium offer is for a free limited 'trial', not something made clear on the LI website.

Thank you for sharing your feedback, and we’re sorry your experience fell short of your expectations. To clarify, the LinkedIn Premium offer provides an elevated complimentary trial membership with access to more benefits than a standard trial. While some premium benefits require a paid upgrade—clearly noted on the invite page as “some benefits only available with paid plan”—many partners are fully accessible during the trial (over half of our 500+ benefits). While there are some benefits limited by location, most are redeemable online or for online services, so they would be available to you. We’re also continually working to expand and enhance our international offerings, and feedback like yours helps guide those improvements. We’re happy to be a resource if you have any questions.
