Really disappointed with Protection plan
I am posting this review to share my experience with Fortegra and the insurance claim process after my leather reclining sofa (Swansea Granite Power Reclining Sofa - GRANITE MNRM 41700-P-S GRANITE) was damaged. After discovering cuts on the leather and white spots across the console leather from spilled food and beverages, I filed Claim #2574031 with full documentation and photos. Throughout the process, I received inconsistent explanations regarding my claim One of my biggest concerns not clearly examine the damaged sofa with me. Despite this lack of technician inspection, my claim was later denied due to normal wear and tear damage which is really frustruatin. When I recently spoke with management, the claim history notes they read back to me did not match the information and photos of the cuts and stains I originally submitted. As a customer, it is extremely frustrating to provide clear evidence of damage, receive changing explanations, and ultimately face a denial.Based on my experience, I am deeply disappointed with how Fortegra and their insurance partners handled this claim.

We appreciate you taking the time to share the details of your experience. Our records show that your furniture was purchased from Rooms To Go on 12/07/2023 along with a 3 year Service Agreement. On 05/18/2026, a claim was submitted for your storage console and dual power right arm facing recliner, including concerns with the USB ports, white spots on the console, intermittent reclining issues, and a tear in the recliner’s fabric. A technician was sent to your home to complete an inspection so we could better understand what was happening. Based on the technician’s report, the USB issue on the console was not caused by a manufacturing defect, and in addition to the white spots, several other stains were noted. For the recliner, the technician did not find an electrical malfunction, and the fabric tear appeared to be the result of the recliner rubbing against the wall over time. Your Service Agreement provides coverage for manufacturing defects and accidental damage that occurs from a single incident. It does not extend to issues caused by repeated wear, accumulated staining, or damage that develops over time. Because the technician’s findings did not indicate a manufacturing defect or a covered accidental incident, the claim is not eligible for coverage under the terms of the Agreement. We understand this may not be the outcome you were hoping for, and we truly appreciate the time you took to share these concerns with us. The claim has been fully reviewed in line with the technician’s findings and the terms of the Service Agreement, and while no further information is needed at this time, we do value your feedback and the opportunity to assist.
