Urban MattressReviews of fortcollins.urbanmattress.com

Like many other reviewers we had a positive experience with the sales staff and our overall buying experience. Everyone was professional, helpful and there was no pressure to buy. We visited 3 times before making our actual purchase. Delivery was on time. We chose the Taos mattress (firm) which is part of the Alpine series. (It is interesting most reviews mention nothing about the specific bed that was purchased) We thought we were buying a mattress made with natural materials, but that does not appear to be the case. Sadly, the memory foam in this mattress is still heavily off gassing after 6 weeks time. It is disappointing to pay this much for a mattress that smells so bad. This bed should have come with a warning. The firm is also too firm for our comfort. We plan to speak with management about our concerns with the off-gassing and need for a softer mattress. I do not recommend the Taos.

I had a great experience with Mark, our salesperson. My main issue now is that I was ignorant about out-gassing. I really should have kept my old mattress to sleep on until the new one was fit to sleep on. So, I put clean bedding on the new mattress and woke up with a bad headache and my body and bedding smelling badly. It took me 3 washings and using baking soda (learned that online) to finally be able to use the bedding. I still can't sleep on the bed and have the bedroom windows open all day. Thankfully I had a 2nd bed to sleep on, I would suggest that the salesperson have a written sheet given to the customer outlining these issues and also have them for the delivery team to give to the customer. I wish I had been better informed.

Delivery system needs some work. I spoke to multiple people trying to solidify a time when I already had one set the day I purchased the mattress.

Costumer service was great (even got a beer while shopping), but I’m really disappointed in my mattress. I’m about 3 years out from my original purchase and the top piece of foam has separated from the rest of the bed making it bubble in some areas (this started shortly after purchasing). There is an indention in the center of the bed (where I frequently sleep) and I’m not able to flip the mattress due to its construction (pillow top). Also the top fabric layer of the mattress is very thin and has little rips in it after a few years of wear. I spent $600 on my mattress and definitely thought it would be more durable. Overall disappointed and wouldn’t purchase again.

I bought a pillowtop mattress and liked it at first. Eventually I turned it 90 degrees and it became bumpy and still is. I rate it as barely acceptable. David
