I arrived 15 minutes late and was told I had to pay an extra $75 per ticket to be accommodated at the same time slot. This clearly shows the helicopter was still available, yet instead of some flexibility or understanding, they asked a hefty additional fee. It felt more like taking advantage of the situation than providing customer service. Very disappointing experience.

Formal Customer Service Complaint
Formal Customer Service Complaint
Good morning,
My name is Leidy Amaya, and I booked a flight with your company under my mother’s name, Aurora Gonzalez Pacacira, scheduled for Friday, April 10th.
First, I would like to mention that I had previously flown with your company on July 28, 2022, together with my husband and two children, and the experience was truly wonderful.
On this occasion, I must acknowledge—and I did so from the very beginning—that it was my responsibility to have arrived close to the departure time due to an issue I encountered on the road. I am fully aware that I arrived at 10:30 a.m.
However, my complaint is not based on the consequences of arriving late, which I understood beforehand, but rather on the attitude and lack of customer service displayed by the manager who assisted me.
I do not speak English, and although I attempted to carry on the conversation, his attitude from the very beginning was rude and dismissive, showing no intention of being helpful. He referred us to Cristina, a very kind person who, based on her accent, appears to be Spanish. I asked her to please explain to him what had happened to me on the road, to apologize on my behalf for the late arrival, and to let him know that I was willing to wait if there was another flight opportunity available, especially since my mother had a return flight to Colombia scheduled for the following day.
Initially, I purchased what I believed to be an “Open Gates” flight; however, I was informed that the ticket I booked was actually classified as “Closed Gates.” Cristina explained to me that this distinction can be confusing due to the Spanish translation.
The manager informed me that I could board an Open Gates flight at 1:00 p.m. by paying an additional surcharge, which I accepted. He later changed his decision and stated that I would need to wait until 4:00 p.m., which I also accepted. Subsequently, he changed the option again and stated that the only possibility was to wait until 7:00 p.m., which I agreed to as well given my circumstances. (Three options were offered and then withdrawn.) Shortly after, and without any clear reason, he told Cristina that he no longer wanted me to wait for that flight and that I would need to reschedule for another day.
At that point, I expressed that it was my decision to wait, and I did not understand why I was being denied the opportunity to fly when I was willing to pay the surcharge he had requested. The only option he ultimately offered was to fly at the same time as my original booking, but with an additional charge of $100 per person, effectively forcing me to take a 28-minute flight.
Throughout this situation, Cristina appeared uncomfortable. While she genuinely intended to help us, the manager showed no intention of doing so. He never agreed to let me fly under the conditions I requested—namely, flying with open gates from the beginning—even though I was willing to pay the additional fee he required. He did allow me to fly at the originally scheduled time, but only with the $100 surcharge to extend the flight duration, which I fully understood.
Having no other options and seeing what I can only describe as an expression of contempt on the manager’s face—whether because I do not speak English or because I arrived late despite apologizing—it became clear that he never intended to help.
In the end, we flew at my originally scheduled time on a 28-minute flight, which was ultimately fine, although it was not the experience I had hoped for my mother. I am deeply grateful to Cristina, as without her assistance, it is likely that the manager would not have allowed us to fly that day at all. It truly seemed that he did not want to let us fly.
After the experience, I asked Cristina for the manager’s name because I wished to file a complaint; however, she informed me that she was not authorized to provide it. I then approached the manager directly and asked for his name, to which he responded “Justin” (I am unsure of the correct spelling; however, this should be verifiable based on the date and time of the incident). When I asked him to write it down so that I could submit a formal report or complaint, he refused.
This leads me to question: How can a customer file a complaint when the person assisting them refuses to provide their name? Who is responsible for protecting the customer?
I reiterate that I arrived late and fully accept responsibility for that; however, the treatment we received and the manner in which the situation was handled were not appropriate. I accepted all options that were offered, yet in the end, we flew only under the conditions imposed by the manager.
Thank you for your attention. I sincerely hope to receive a response regarding this matter.

The staff were very attentive and…
The staff were very attentive and friendly, which I really appreciated. However, the flight itself felt pointless because I couldn’t see anything and wasn’t able to take any photos. My seat was in a very bad position, which made the experience disappointing overall

We appreciate you bringing this to our attention. We're sorry the flight was disappointing because of the limited visibility from your seat, which prevented you from taking photos. We'll review your feedback to improve our customer experience.

very disappointed
Was very disappointed with a fly- first of all was extremely cold (yes I know I choose opened doors). Second- I couldn’t hear pilot, even though I put speakers on max volume, because of that missed the message when it’s possible to have “shoe selfie”. Third- my partner sat next to the window where not even possible to take legs out. But it was a “shoe selfie” price. And the most important- I couldn’t even watch all that beautiful views because of strong wind blowing in my eyes and I couldn’t open them for more than a second. I really cried after the flight because I expected to enjoy it but it turned into worst NY experience. I really would like to warn all the people who thinks about fling on helicopter- take one with closed doors. Opened doors is not worth it.

We appreciate you sharing your experience. We're sorry the open-door flight wasn't enjoyable due to the cold, difficulty hearing the pilot, the seating, and wind impacting your view. We'll review these points to improve our customer experience.

No recomiendo FLYNYON

Had a very bad experience with this…
Had a very bad experience with this company. First they canceled our flight because of weather and gave us vouchers to rebook within a year. When we came back to book they had us pay an additional $200 just to rebook because of “surge prices” (our original tickets were $600+). Then when we are finally going to do our flight the day before at 5:30pm they sent me an email letting me know that my flight time had been moved to 1h earlier. They didn’t call me or text me to let me know of the change (even though they had been texting me before other trip updates), so as most people especially being on vacation I wasn’t checking my emails, so I only found out about the change at 1pm on the day of the flight so we had to change all of our itinerary and move things around to be able to make it, which naturally caused us to be late. We arrived at their facility at 5:50pm instead of 5:25 (our flight time was 6:25pm but they want you to be there over an hour earlier). At that point the guys in the front desk told us because we were late our only option was to pay another $200+ to be upgraded to a longer flight. We argued we didn’t want any upgrade, we just wanted our flight or a refund and they were very drastic and with no intention to help. They lied about having called me and when they tested it in front of me they were dialing a number wrong so they never actually called me. The whole thing is a scam. They cancel flights for no reason if they want to, then charge you a fee when you rebook it, then change the time of the flight without giving you much notice and then try to charge you again. Nevertheless because we didn’t give in they gave us our 16mins flight after arguing for 20 mins. It turned out to be a 10mins flight in an old helicopter, so bottom line this wasn’t worth it at all. Almost $1000 spent for 10mins in the air, and the worst customer service I’ve ever seen.
