I paid a very high price, but ended up sitting between other passengers and couldn’t see anything. I definitely don’t recommend it.

We are sorry your experience did not meet expectations. We are reviewing our seating arrangements to prevent this.

Deceptive Marketing
What an impressive business model.
They advertise a relatively low price to get you interested, and then the extra charges begin.
First, there is a separate “booking fee” on top of the helicopter ride itself. Apparently, allowing a customer to book the service they are already paying for is now considered an additional premium service.
Then there are even more fees. For a doors-off helicopter ride, for example, you are asked to pay extra to “guarantee” an outside seat. The helicopter has six seats in total, and only one of them is not an outside seat.
So, in other words, they have somehow managed to turn a one-in-six possibility into another paid upgrade.
And I am quite confident that if you refuse to pay for this “guarantee,” they will do everything possible to place you in that one middle seat, even if other outside seats are empty. Because apparently an empty seat is more valuable than giving a customer a reasonable experience without charging them again.
It is difficult to describe this as anything other than a disguised form of forced upselling.
Their strategy is simple: advertise a low headline price, attract the customer, and then slowly reveal a collection of extra fees, conditions, and “optional” upgrades that do not feel very optional at all.
So yes, the initial price may look attractive.
Just make sure you bring your wallet, because apparently the helicopter is not the only thing designed to take off.
So what was my actual experience?
I paid $148 for the base fare, another $118 as a “booking fee,” another $100 to upgrade the flight time, and an additional fee to guarantee an outside seat. I do not even remember how much that last fee was.
And yes, different flight times can also cost more.
At that point, you might reasonably assume that after paying for the flight, paying to book the flight, paying to extend the flight, and paying to guarantee an outside seat, you have probably finished paying.
You would be wrong.
I was then told that I could not bring my own GoPro onto the helicopter. If I wanted GoPro footage, I could pay another $99 to use theirs.
I declined.
That turned out to be a very expensive $99 decision.
They placed me in the seat directly behind the pilot — conveniently, the only outside seat on the entire helicopter where you cannot properly put your legs outside.
What a remarkable coincidence.
Out of all the available outside seats, I somehow ended up in the one seat that gave me the worst version of the experience I had already paid extra for.
Maybe I misunderstood the system. Perhaps the $99 GoPro upgrade also secretly includes the “please do not punish me with the worst seat” package.
I really should have paid it.
That seems to be the theme of the entire experience: the advertised price gets you through the door, and then almost every part of the experience becomes another opportunity to charge you.
Booking fee. Flight-time fee. Outside-seat fee. GoPro fee. Higher prices for different time slots.
None of these charges seem particularly impressive on their own. The impressive part is how creatively they have managed to divide one helicopter ride into so many separate things that require additional payment.
And if you decide that you have paid enough, do not worry — they seem perfectly capable of reminding you why you should have paid more.
This was my experience. Make of it what you will.

We appreciate you taking the time to share such detailed feedback regarding your recent experience with us. We genuinely regret that your time with us was overshadowed by concerns about our pricing structure and the additional fees encountered. We understand how frustrating it can be when the final cost significantly exceeds initial expectations, and we acknowledge your feelings of being subjected to forced upselling.
Your comprehensive account of the booking fee, flight time upgrades, guaranteed seating charges, and the GoPro policy provides us with valuable insights. We are particularly concerned to hear about your seating assignment and how it impacted your enjoyment, especially after paying for an outside seat. It is clear that the experience did not meet the reasonable expectations you had, and we recognize the disappointment this caused.
We are committed to transparency and ensuring our customers feel valued. Your feedback highlights areas where we need to re-evaluate how we present our services and optional extras. We are taking your comments seriously and will be reviewing our pricing models and communication strategies to ensure a clearer and more straightforward experience for all our guests. We are dedicated to making necessary improvements to prevent similar situations from occurring in the future.

Disappointing Experience and Lack of Transparency
I booked FlyNYON to surprise my partner and create a special memory. Unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing, mainly because of the lack of transparency around seating.
We were not informed in advance that one of us could be assigned the middle seat, squeezed between two other passengers, while paying the same expensive ticket price as everyone else. You only find out your seating when you are about to board the helicopter. At that point, if you are uncomfortable with the assigned seat and decide not to fly, you risk forfeiting your ticket and losing the money you paid.
I raised this concern directly with Luis, the manager in charge. He explained that the team does not know the final seating arrangement and that the pilot determines it after receiving the passenger list. What I found especially troubling was being told that informing customers earlier could result in people refusing to take the middle seat.
That is exactly why customers SHOULD be informed beforehand.
When everyone is paying the same premium price, customers deserve to understand what kind of experience they may receive before they reach the helicopter—not when their only options are to accept the seat or potentially lose their money.
Unfortunately, speaking with Luis did not provide any resolution. He acknowledged that they have had disappointed customers but said there was nothing they could do. He also mentioned that FlyNYON has been in business since 2013, and his response left me with the impression that our disappointment and a negative review were not significant concerns.
I wasn’t asking for special treatment. I was asking for transparency and a fair opportunity to make an informed choice.
FlyNYON may have operational reasons for assigning seats this way, but those internal processes should not come at the expense of the customer experience. If middle seating is a possibility, disclose it clearly before purchase or at least before customers arrive to board.
For something marketed as a premium and memorable experience, better communication, transparency, and customer service should be expected.

We’re sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations, especially as your helicopter flight over New York was meant to be a special part of your trip.
We would, however, like to clarify a few points. The check-in time provided with each reservation is not simply a suggested arrival time. It is required in order to complete safety procedures, passenger briefings, seat assignments, and the operational preparation necessary for the flight. Because our flights operate on a precise schedule and involve other passengers, arriving after the required check-in time can unfortunately prevent us from completing these procedures in time for the originally scheduled flight.
We also understand the disappointment caused by the weather-related rescheduling. Passenger and crew safety will always remain our priority, and when weather conditions prevent us from operating a flight as scheduled, rescheduling may be necessary. Sunset timing and availability on the new date can unfortunately differ from the original reservation.
The alternative longer flight was offered as another opportunity to experience New York from the air, not to create an additional inconvenience. However, because it was a different product with a longer flight duration and different value, a price adjustment was required.
We’re sorry that the overall handling of the situation left you disappointed. We do appreciate your kind words about Nicolò, and we’ll be sure to share your recognition of his professionalism and excellent service with him.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback.

I’m not happy with the service
I’m not happy with the service. I paid for a half-hour tour, but two people next to me only paid for 16 minutes. It seems unfair that they got a longer tour with less money .
Update :
I hope you will take ownership of this situation, show some empathy, and make things right. I would appreciate it if you could refund the price difference. Otherwise, this remains completely unfair to me. Thank you.

No me agradó que nos mezclaran con otras personas en el vuelo, íbamos muy apretados, mi hijo iba en medio mío y otras personas persona que no le permitió disfrutar la vista. En otros vuelos realizados en otras ciudades ha sido solo para nosotros

Hello,
We’re sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations.
The experience you booked was a *shared flight*, which means other guests may be seated in the helicopter during the same flight. We completely understand that this may not have provided the level of privacy or unobstructed views you were expecting for your family.
For guests looking for a more exclusive experience, we also offer *private flights*, where the helicopter is reserved exclusively for you and your group.
We appreciate your feedback and hope we have the opportunity to welcome you back for a private experience in the future.
Best,
FlyNYON Team

Chinese people who urgently need help processing credit card refunds
I was charged twice for using my credit card. I contacted customer service in person, but they only told me to contact online customer service. I did communicate with them, but the processing speed was extremely slow, and there's still no follow-up. I originally thought that such a large company would provide excellent and fast service for a refund issue, but I'm really disappointed.
