Home run with Florus
Ok, so I read a ton of reviews before purchasing Florus and I knew I would not be disappointed. I was right. But I do want to say that there IS a "cocktail" I've created for myself that has been staving them off permanently. First off, know thy triggers. I thought I was doing pretty well, but missed a big migraine-causing trigger: artificial sweeteners give me an immediate migraine. Bleach, alcohol, candles, perfume, campfire smoke, incoming rain/cooler weather changes are all triggers, but the with all of these it's really a culmination/combination-the more of these, the worse off I am. One or two of these, I'm usually okay. With so many triggers, it's not actually possible to keep myself from feeling a headache coming on. Eating an anti-inflammatory diet has been CRUCIAL as well, and so has eating enough (I have learned I have to eat even when I'm not hungry). Finally, yoga has helped, because all the stretching I believe is moving blood in a way that helps. Now, all that said means I'm required to maintain a pretty stable lifestyle. But life isn't always stable. So what do you do in that case? You're traveling, you're on someone else's schedule, you don't have access to all of your foods, etc. I had that happen this weekend, and I knew just what to do. So here's what worked for me: 1. Bring along foods that you know your body likes, and have them handy in the event they are unavailable. For me I just brought a pb&j sandwich and an electrolyte drink to start the day with, because I figured out low blood sugar causes migraines. 2. Keep your roll-on handy and do not be afraid to apply it often. Over the course of three days, I felt a headache coming on each day. I rubbed it on my forehead, temples, and both sides of my neck SEVERAL times a day. The company recommends once a day, or twice a day, but since it doesn't enter the bloodstream, several times a day was not harmful at all. 3. Along with the this product, I've added in a magnesium mix of seven different kinds of magnesium. I also added in a headache preventative vitamin that includes Riboflavin, Feverfew, and a bit more magnesium. In "crisis mode", I added in Butterbur (PA-free), but that's not ideal. Now, all this extra magnesium has been difficult for my stomach, so I'm splitting the dose, and that has been fine. Today with a split dose of magnesium, I used the Florus roll-on about six times today (I'm back in my natural habitat so my stress levels are a bit lower) and I snuck in some M&M's, immediately felt a headache coming on, rubbed the roll-on, and the headache went away on its own. So I know this review is long, but I think my point is, Florus isn't the "end all be all." Many reviews state that. It will help reduce your symptoms. HOWEVER, I know that before I was using Florus and doing all of these other things, I wasn't guaranteed to be headache free. It would help, but it wouldn't stop it in its tracks. Adding Florus in to a mindful regimen has taken it all the way home. It has been four weeks since my last migraine (I started the vitamin regimen about 8 weeks ago) I started Florus last week, and it's been heaven on earth. I am looking forward to the day when I am no longer afraid of a potential migraine! Update for this morning, 7/7/26: this is the first day in years I’ve woken up without the right side of my face feeling stuffy! Last night I applied the recovery roll-on so set myself up for success. Consistency is key!
