I have always loved Flodesk but the help desk is awful! You can no longer chat and have to wait for an email reply. The rep took over 5 emails to answer my questions and went in circles with their reply. We are on a deadline for a client and this was super frustrating. They used to have chat and it was so fast an efficient, I am sad to see that feature removed. We had issues with our fonts changing when sending test emails, but never had that issue with the other emails we have been sending for months. The song and dance replies, not answering my actual questions or looking at the screenshots I was sending was super frustrating. Flodesk, please get your chat back!! I would avoid using Flodesk again for my future email clients because of this experience.

Serious checkout issue affecting revenue and trust (unresolved for over a month!)
For over a month, Flodesk’s checkout has been applying incorrect VAT to my sales due to a tax configuration bug. This overrides the correct settings in Stripe.
Because my pricing is VAT-inclusive, this is not a minor issue. It directly reduces my net income on every affected transaction and creates serious complications for VAT reporting (HMRC).
As a result, I have:
paused advertising for a time-sensitive workshop
spent hours trying to resolve the issue across Flodesk and Stripe
had to investigate and identify the root cause myself
Lost significant revenue (over £1,400)
The issue is still not resolved.
What’s most concerning is the handling:
-repeated redirection between support teams
inconsistent guidance
-no clear ownership of the problem nor accountability
This is not just a technical bug — it affects revenue, compliance, and the ability to run a business with confidence.
On a 700US$ annual subscription you can find a much better product and service elsewhere. Don't make the same costly mistake

This service has significantly declined…
This service has significantly declined over time. What used to be included now comes at an extra cost for almost everything.
You pay for the service, only to find out there is still branding included. If you want to remove it, you are required to pay even more. On top of that, the pricing model is based on the number of readers rather than emails sent, which quickly becomes very expensive.
In my opinion, this feels misleading and not transparent. Customer service is also very poor and unhelpful.
This is something potential users should be aware of before getting started.

Multiple 'disappeared' email drafts and refusal to give pro-rated refund for cancelling
It is a platform that prioritizes beauty, clean interface, and ease in setting up automations. It isn't nearly as robust as Kit or other platforms, but for solopreneurs who don't need complexity, it's great...UNTIL IT PERMANENTLY DELETES THE CONTENT YOU JUST SPENT FOUR HOURS CREATING.
AND THEN IT DOES IT AGAIN.
Literally, there is no 'undo' option to retrieve the work that magically went *poof*! Customer support was atrocious in addressing the situation. They suggested - I kid you not - to prevent this problem by drafting my emails in a notes app.
In other words, it's my fault that they're system disappeared my emails - not theirs. And while I can appreciate the wisdom of drafting my emails elsewhere when my platform refuses to take responsibility for ensuring its product actually works as promised (and had I decided to stay, I would have done just that), Flodesk looks like any other email marketing platform without its pre-formatted sections - sections that I can't replicate in my notes app. So the problem still arises: I have to compose my email in Flodesk > Flodesk 'disappears' my work while I'm in the middle of composing it > I have to start over.
Perhaps the worst part about this experience was when they refused to issue me a pro-rated refund (for most of the remainder of the year I'd prepaid for) when their platform failed to provide the service I'd paid for. I'm back at Kit, and - for the record - you can make beautiful emails there, too. Your biggest limitation is using custom fonts for fancy blocks, but since Flodesk flattens them into images anyway, you can create the same effect in Canva (but better because it's 100% on-brand) and then add that image to your Kit email.
Response from FlodeskMar 13, 2026
We're really sorry this was your experience. Losing hours of work with no way to recover it is genuinely frustrating, and we understand why the support response and refund decision left you feeling unheard. That's not the experience we want anyone to have, and your feedback is important to us. If you're open to it, we'd love to make this right. Please reach out to us directly—we'd like to look into what happened.

I regret using Flodesk
I really regret building my mailing list with flodesk.
In the beginning everything was fine, but recently all my emails are being marked as phishing and automatically filtered into spam - despite me sending the same high quality content.
I'm subscribed a few other small businesses who also use flodesk and I noticed their emails to me are also being marked as phishing - so I know it's not just me.
As a result of all these problems and low open rates, my domain reputation has taken a massive hit and now I'm unable to use my mailing list I've spent years building up.
Heartbroken :(

Deceiving UX Practices – lost my trust
I have serious concerns regarding some recent experiences with the Flodesk service that I find quite troubling. They use deceptive UX practices.
1) I invested significant time and effort planning and designing my checkout page, only to discover that I needed to upgrade when I clicked the "Publish" button. This kind of experience makes users feel trapped and undermines the trust in your service. I only wanted to use a checkout for a month, but I was forced to pay for an entire year.
2) Since I had no other option but upgrade (or loose all the work), I decided to upgrade my account to use the checkout page ($150). Howevere, I was absolutely shocked to find out by email that I was charged the full annual fee of $300, and then the amount for the discount was issued as credit. I would like this amount refunded directly to my bank account, rather than as credit. This approach is concerning, as it leaves me with the uncertainty of what happens if I choose not to renew next year. Additionally, it was not clearly stated on the checkout page that I would be charged the full amount, which I believe is misleading.
I urge you to consider another platform. I would personally switch to KIT.

Avoid Like The Plague
This is one of those companies that starts billing you and you can't get it off. I used them years ago and cancelled years ago. Last month $400 charge pops up on a new account. The email the account is registered under no longer exists. Will they chase me into my grave?

I am a long time customer of Flodesk
I am a long time customer of Flodesk, and in the last year it has severely taken a bad turn.
I’ve been notifed by multiple subscribers on my list AND workflows that they have not received any emails. It is not in spam, and flodesk even marks some of those users as “opened” which is not true.
I understand tech issues can happen, but their support team is literally gaslighting me saying that everything is working successfully (it is not), blaming it on the subscriber’s inbox instead, and giving me poor advice like to have the users “check spam.” These are not solutions nor do they make me feel seen/heard.
I expressed my disappointment and asked for a refund which TWICE now they did not even acknowledge. Just more “great news! It’s all working successfully” gaslighting.
I really wanted to support Flodesk because they are a small business but they are definitely inaccurately reporting subscribers and emails are not sending which is resulting in smaller businesses like myself losing out on money and time that supports my livelihood.
They lost a loyal customer today.
