★☆☆☆☆ — Absolute Garbage Product and Unacceptable Customer Service
My experience with Flair Espresso has been absolutely disgraceful.
I purchased their milk steamer expecting a functional, reliable product. Instead, I received what I can only describe as absolute, utter garbage. The steamer didn’t even work properly, making it completely useless for its intended purpose.
As frustrating as the defective product was, the company’s handling of my return has been even worse.
I went through the trouble of shipping the products back to Flair Espresso, yet the company has failed to refund my money. They have my returned merchandise, and I am still left without the refund I am owed.
A company that sells defective equipment should be taking responsibility and making its customers whole, not forcing them to chase down their own money after returning the merchandise.
This has been one of the most disappointing purchasing experiences I’ve had. Between the unacceptable product quality and the appalling handling of my refund, I have completely lost confidence in Flair Espresso.
My recommendation: Save your money, avoid the frustration, and purchase your equipment from a company that actually stands behind its products and treats its customers with respect.
Flair Espresso, I returned your products. Refund my money.

The eWizard Electric Milk Steamer: A Dangerous "Runaway Boiler" Defect & Unsafe Troubleshooting Protocol
Update (October 19, 2026) — Remote "Diagnosis" Without Inspection & Intentional Review Suppression:
Flair Espresso posted their reply below claiming my defective unit was "working as designed" while the return package today, October 19th, is still in USPS transit and has not even arrived in California for physical inspection. Declaring a runaway pressure vessel safe without ever opening the chassis or testing the failed components proves their response is a canned PR script rather than an engineering evaluation.
Furthermore, the fact that Flair staff had time today to read and respond to this review on Trustpilot—where they cannot delete customer feedback—while leaving the exact same 1-star review hidden and unpublished on their own website’s Yotpo review system since Saturday (Oct 17) proves they are actively suppressing negative safety warnings on their storefront to protect sales.

The eWizard Electric Milk Steamer: A
Dangerous "Runaway Boiler" Defect & Unsafe Troubleshooting Protocol
The Good:
When it worked during the first month, the unit produced adequate steam for home use.
Customer support ultimately honored a zero-cost return after escalation.
The Fatal Flaw (Runaway Boiler & Safety Hazard):
After roughly 4 to 6 weeks of normal, light residential use, the eWizard internal pressure stat or solid-state relay failed in the "closed" position. Rather than turning off at its target pressure, the machine entered an uncontrolled "runaway boiler" state, continuously pumping heat into the sealed water vessel until internal pressure forced the top mechanical emergency pressure relief valve (OPV) to repeatedly pop open and vent live, high-pressure steam into the kitchen.
The Manufacturer's Response (A Major Safety Concern):
When I reported the dangerous, unmanaged pressure spike to Flair Espresso support, their representative instructed me to re-energize the compromised pressure vessel and record a video of the live emergency pressure release and gauge reading to qualify for warranty service. Instructing a consumer to deliberately re-pressurize a malfunctioning heating vessel with a stuck power relay creates an unacceptable risk of severe third-degree steam burns or vessel rupture.
Regulatory Action Taken:
A formal incident report has been filed with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) under SaferProducts.gov, complete with batch details, failure video evidence, and support transcripts. Furthermore, inspection of the unit's base plate reveals a conspicuous lack of independent safety certifications (such as UL, ETL, or CSA) standard for 120V/1250W high-pressure appliances sold in the US.
Final Verdict:
Do not buy. A compact kitchen appliance that relies on a mechanical emergency pop-valve as its primary stopgap against a failing electronic heating relay—combined with troubleshooting advice that puts the user directly in harm's way—represents an unmitigated safety hazard.

Hi Almir. Thanks for taking the time to share your experience. While we apologize for any alarm caused, and are happy to process your return as advised, we want to clarify that your eWizard was actually working as designed. The relief valve opens at 3.0 BAR only if the pressure stat drifts above its 2.5 BAR setting, which can happen in some cases. This is a safety measure and is calibrated and tested extensively - and is the same safety feature on our Wizard stovetop steamer.
We have also built in a redundancy to ensure full safety even if the pressure stat does drift. The second safety measure is the float valve built into all eWizards, that cuts power to the unit if the water drops below a minimum level. Even in a true runaway scenario, however unlikely, the relief valve would vent steam safely through the lid’s deflection plate. Once a maximum of 150 mL of water evaporated, the float switch would cut power to the heater. We built in these redundant safeties so every eWizard can deliver years of worry-free, café-quality steam - and we’re always looking for ways to make them even better.

Bought new steamer, arrived faulty, seller asked me to repair it myself
I recently purchased a brand new Flair Wizard milk steamer from MaxiCoffee, but unfortunately it arrived faulty.
From the first use, the steam valve does not work properly — steam is continuously released regardless of the knob position, making the unit unsafe to use.
What was more disappointing is that instead of offering a replacement or refund, I was initially asked to attempt a repair myself using a YouTube video. This is not acceptable for a brand new product.
The packaging also appeared to have been previously opened, which raises concerns about whether the item was truly new.
I am currently in the process of returning the item, but this experience has been very frustrating. I hope the company will take responsibility and resolve this properly

Hi Rushside -
I'm sorry for your negative experience with the Wizard, and we stand by our products and will work to make sure this is corrected. As you purchased through a retailer - they will handle the return - if you choose to go down that route. Sometimes there can be a very quick fix to an a small mechanical issue - which is why we sent a video to try to get you up and running. But if that didn't work, of course you can return the product and again we apologize for the poor experience!

They don’t have to deliver what you ordered.
Note that if you want to return an item you are responsible for postage and customs duties, even if the reason for return is that the delivered item isn’t what you ordered.

Scammers and scoundrels
Scammers. We want cancellation of the order.
It's a shame that a company like this deceives in this way
I see that you answer everyone, maybe because their shipping costs have not increased that much. I am interested in answering to say that the estimate was $67 and finally it is $97.
You also said that you were working on improving it, so despite everything I thought that it might be around $50 but not $100.
It's a shame that the product costs me $125 and $97 for shipping.
I want a cancellation please, I don't care when it comes to breaking it and showing on all possible social media that it's broken and that it's crap so that no one buys it.
If you dedicate yourself to lying, I will do the same
I'm editing the message for the second time, to see if you can answer me that way.
I am from Spain, you can tell us all how you have deceived us.

How I was treated as a pledger who help funded your campaign.
Hi Flair,
I am from Malaysia, since you only answer selectively to pledgers with shipping fee not more than USD72, how about answering my situation? I was asked to pay up USD92.77 (USD72.15 if without tax and tax shipping) for a product that cost USD134. You can actually ship the unit from the manufacturer in China to most of us in Asia, but instead you picked the most expensive way to ship it via DHL just to save some headaches. If you are me, will you pay almost 70% as shipping cost for a product? Frankly I feel insulted to be treated this way as a pledger who help funded your project.

Some more complaint: Kickstarter
Some more complaint about their Kickstarter.
First of all: the idea behind a kickstarter is to help develop new produxts especially from ot established or financially small companies or individuals. Thats not true for Flair at all, they use it as risk mitigation, easier finance of development, advertisment and of course an easy platform.
As pointed out by a positive comment "only" 20$ more. No that is not true. It is 35$ plus tax for me. And more importantly are the relevant numbers. Thats 40% increase in shipping cost estimate and 28% of the price for this product. So now I am about paying additional roughly 50% of the product price for shipping.
Now I have a fear they use this shipping problem as a further excuse for delays, as they have shifted deadlines already
Well that may happen, but do not always use external causes as excuses .. which are not really convincing.
I guess the product can then be bought quickly afterwards for the same price as they can distribute it for a much lower price with mass shipping.
Furthermore stretch goals have been voided without explanation.
Also they changed a stretch goal supplement to something whichbis already included, however a bit better item. So I have basically two things out if which I use one.
The risk benefit for the "customers" is basically negative. Typical behaviour of an only win oriented company without customer care.
One should keep this in mind, if one thinks about how they will handle warranty issues.

They don't care about international customers
Customers from the U.S. gets free shipping, but they don't care about non-U.S. customers. They decided to use DHL and ship from the U.S. for "reliability", and do not bother to give options to customers outside of the U.S. For customers in South East Asia for example, even if they ship directly from the manufacturer in China it would still cost less. Now it's almost double the original estimate, shipping and taxes is almost the same price as the product itself. It doesn't make any sense! A lot of people complained about this, but they just don't care. Why should we care about their business? I hope they go bankrupt soon
