Find a GraveReviews of findagrave.com

Used Find a Grave to track down where my great grandmother is buried and had the cemetery name and plot number within a few minutes. Somebody had already uploaded photos of the headstone so I did not have to drive out there to read it. I submitted a small correction on her birth year and it got approved pretty quick too.

This site is a great resource for family history. I am a volunteer and go out of my way to record memorials and have uploaded thousands. These are found in public records, churchyards and cemeteries, so nothing is being violated. I receive numerous requests from people around the world to visit and record their relatives memorials local to me. If they want to manage them, then I am more than happy to transfer ownership. If I end up with just my family memorials and all the others are transferred to their family members, then I have done my job. Many people have helped me with photos, so I help others. I've requested to manage family merionals that others have uploaded and have never had an issue. Customer services are extremely helpful and reply within a couple of days. The few here complaining just do not understand how useful this site is for family research. People trying to get family members removed are just short sited. If i ever receive a request to remove a relative, I'll be more than happy to. At the end of the day, it'll be you and your future descendants loss. This is a great resource to document memorials before they are lost to time. I come across many that are unreadable or rubble which is sad. Their relatives have taken time to choose a memorial and write a meaningful epitath, so to document them for future generations is a must.

the Find a grave is a must if you are doing Ancestry searches . you just have to know how to use it correctly and some of the information you have to provide yourself , and one of the really good things i like about it is the Volunteers all over the world who will happily take a photo on request . you have to remember that most of the Memorials are put on by the Users so you have to search a bit and hopefully someone can help , and you can also contact there support staff who are always very helpful

If you are doing geneology then this is a must use site along with the ryserson index in Australia. The sort of people complaining seem to be similar to the ones that think they own the road outside their place and no one else should park there. Quality varies as per any site that relies on volunteers (who don't suddenly become Einsteins).

So many people trash Find-a-Grave. I am into tracing my heritage as a hobby and this site helped me so much that I felt the need to pay others contributions forward. When used properly, it is a treasure trove of information to those like me. I have found errors and instead of trashing the site or contributor, I assist in resolving the discrepancy. Anyone, in my opinion, that try's to be the first to create a profile is contributing but not in the right way. I tend to answer request for photo's. While searching for the headstone, if I see interesting or neglected headstones, I clean them up, take a photo and check to see if there is a memorial for the relatives to find. Those that label all contributors, "grave collectors", are ignorant and shallow.

Find A Grave has proven to me to be a group of kind and helpful people who have linked me to the graves of family, friends and historically significant people. I would have never visited any of those graves and lost those people forever. A number of friends who were killed when I was in the Marines just disappeared from my life. No memorial service, no graveside visits. They were buried in their hometowns I'd never visit and I would move on with their loss. I found them all and virtually visited their graves on this site. A note I left linked me and through me, many friends, with my dead friend's family. I can't say enough good things about this site and the good people who come together here to help complete strangers -- especially help alleviate their grief.

Very helpful website for genealogical research and also allows distant family members to look at graves that they would probably not otherwise get to see. Very helpful and efficient customer service. Marie was very helpful today.

Find a Grave is an exceptional resource for accessing Ancestry help. Its extensive database of gravesites and memorials provides a wealth of information for those researching their ancestry. The platform's user-friendly interface makes it easy to navigate and locate the information needed, while its active community of contributors ensures that help is readily available for those seeking assistance with their genealogical pursuits. Overall, Find a Grave is a valuable tool for anyone looking to uncover their family history, offering a treasure trove of resources and support along the way.
