Why are Farmer's insurance television…
Why are Farmer's insurance television commercials so stupid? Do they think we are all complete idiots?
In 1928, two men shared a dream of providing a quality insurance product at a reasonable price. In the decades that followed we’ve grown and adapted to meet the changing needs of Americans. But one constant has remained: We have an unwavering commitment to uphold our founding ideals to provide industry-leading products and first-rate services to the customers we’re privileged to serve.Different Eras, Same Exceptional ServiceFarmers not only prides itself on helping you plan wisely for the unexpected, but also on helping restore order when it occurs, so you can keep moving along the road of your life’s plans. In 1959 a Farmers customer wrote us a letter of surprised gratitude when his car battery was replaced just an hour after it was stolen. A letter from a couple in 2002 wrote that their Farmers agent and Claims Adjuster “were exceptional in their handling of our grief, what we needed to do, and helpful in many other ways.” That same year, when Hurricane Rita struck Beaumont, Texas, Farmers sent 300 agents to assess damages while policy holders were evacuated. Farmers also donated $100,000 for the city’s emergency operations center and two megawatt generators that restored power to Beaumont. Whatever year or decade a disaster occurs, you can count on us to be there for you.Today, the companies comprising the Farmers Insurance Group of Companies make up one of the country's largest insurers of vehicles, homes and small businesses and provide a wide range of other insurance and financial services products.Farmers is proud to serve more than 10 million households with more than 19 million individual policies across all 50 states through the efforts of over 48,000 exclusive and independent agents and nearly 21,000 employees. The Farmers Exchanges are three reciprocal insurers (Farmers Insurance Exchange, Fire Insurance Exchange and Truck Insurance Exchange) owned by their policyholders, and together with their subsidiaries and affiliates comprise the Farmers Insurance Gr

Don't trust Farmers. There are better companies out there. They stole $333 from me after I already had another insurance company. When I called the company they tried to throw every deal they had at me, after I say no it's way too expensive. The man from corporate said he would give me back my money. But they had to take one more stab and stole $183 from me. I called to see why? They said because i was pro rated, which i never needed, and the man never said that would happened. What's sad is it use to be a good company. Now I'll never recommend them too anyone. I hope they go out of business.

Note: See tip at the bottom of this review to learn how to register on the donotcall.gov website to stop Farmer's agents from harrassing you with telemarketing calls. I have repeatedly asked their agents to remove my phone number from their call list. Despite these requests, the calls continue from different phone numbers, making it impossible to stop them by blocking individual numbers. I only began documenting the calls yesterday. On that single day, I received five calls from the following numbers: 855-285-0032 425-822-2067 (shows as "Bishop Associates" on my caller ID, but the caller identified themselves as being with Farmers Insurance) 888-319-1287 866-915-3367 This morning, at approximately 9:45 a.m., I received another call from 833-946-1638. Because each call comes from a different number, blocking them has not stopped the calls. I have clearly and repeatedly requested to be placed on their do-not-call list, yet the calls continue. At this point, I consider this pattern to be harassment. I am taking my time now to file a complaint with the BBB, write this review, and also register with donotcall.gov. It is rare for me to take the time to do this, but I have asked them repeatedly to take me off the list and if anything, the calls are increasing. The fact that they come from different numbers, getting around my call block, finally motivated me to do something. If you're getting these kinds of calls I would suggest registering with donotcall.org. After 31 days you can then report the calls to the FTC. (And, I just learned that you can report any robocalls to FTC). To report to FTC, find the link on the donotcall.gov site.

**Avoid Farmers Insurance if you value transparency, accountability, or basic customer service.** Trying to cancel my policy has been an unnecessarily difficult and frustrating experience. I clearly requested cancellation, received acknowledgment that the request had been received, and was still charged afterward. Instead of processing a straightforward cancellation, Farmers created additional obstacles, delays, and confusion. A customer should not have to repeatedly follow up, make multiple calls, complete unnecessary steps, and fight to stop charges on a policy they have already asked to cancel. The most unacceptable part is that Farmers continued taking money after acknowledging the cancellation request. Whether this happened because of poor internal communication, an inefficient cancellation process, or simple negligence, the result is the same: I was charged for coverage I had already stated I no longer wanted. The customer service experience has been dismissive, disorganized, and completely lacking in accountability. Every interaction seems designed to pass the responsibility to another department rather than resolve the issue. Canceling an insurance policy should not feel like trying to escape a contract that the company refuses to honor. I would strongly caution anyone considering Farmers Insurance to carefully review its cancellation procedures and monitor every bank transaction. Based on my experience, getting them to stop withdrawing money may be far more difficult than getting them to start. I expected professionalism from a major insurance company. Instead, I received delays, continued charges, and an exhausting runaround. I would not recommend Farmers Insurance to anyone.

I was with Farmers insurance for 17 years. Never had an accident. Never had a ticket. I never got any driving discounts for being a good driver like they advertise. I never got any kind of benefits for being a good driver. All I got was rate increases. I switched and went to progressive. I get better insurance coverage with less money. Don't waste your time with farmers. They're terrible

Farmers Insurance has provided one of the most frustrating customer service experiences I have encountered. I have been trying for months to resolve a single issue, but every time I call, I receive a different explanation and answer from each representative. The lack of consistency and resolution has been extremely disappointing. #18614

I haven’t had a claim but managing an account isn’t so easy. In order to get a hold of customer service, you have to talk to a robot and it won’t let you continue until it understands you and your reason for calling, otherwise it hangs up. Very annoying, it should have an option to just press a number from the beginning to speak to someone. Once I do get a hold of someone though, its a breeze.
