Understanding DNA as it relates to your Genealogy and ancestors depends on you learning all you can about how it works. It doesn't give you all the answers you may want answered. Put in the time to understand it and most of your questions will be answered. FTDNA is the most comprehensive testing company. They are the best.

A niche DNA testing company, the only one that both tests many markers and has matches. Their “Discover” feature predicts the year of birth of a common ancestor, which prediction landed as close as two years away from the actual. But I am most impressed by the potential of their tree of humankind.

I have used FTDNA for 20 years and made many genealogical discoveries I also was able to work with others in great ways They have great science and a large data base and useful tools.

It takes time to understand this scientific site. A mentor should be available for newbies.
